Videos of My Chameleon, Bud

That is not the right enclosure for a chameleon. You should read some of the threads on enclosures for Veileds. You really should change that ASAP.

I know.. That is why I said I just got him a new cage. When I bought him it came with the other cage in the video while I was building this one...

The new one is a big improvement because those hammock things are rubbish for Chameleons. More branches and leaves is the way forward :)
I think Miss Machine is right though, the new one one could do with just a little more work. A couple of horizontal branches and a bit more foliage would make it ideal. Those spiny leaves don't provide much cover to hide behind :)

So you don't think I should hang the hammock in the new enclosure? He seemed to like it in his old place. He would kinda lay on it and hang out.

I plan on putting in some things that run across the enclosure here soon, just ran out of time. I will take a pic when done and see what you all think

it was most likley the only "branch" where he liked the temps so he was on it..typically this is how you would set up the branches (you can ofcourse scale it down for the size of a cage, it doesent have to be this big, lol):D

He had a vine that stuck to the window and a tree. He sat on all of these equally.. it wasn't the only thing to sit on. But I will take your guys word for it

Its not going to hurt to throw it in the new one. I bet he does not use it much in there though. Its better for their feet to grip branches.
Your new enclosure is good. Just add more climby/foliage things to all areas.

BTW your two enclosures are very very cool. I need to get many more live plants. Is there one that it seems chameleons tend to like more then others?

Not particularly. There are some that I defininetly recomend.
Pothos is the best. Its ceap, doesnt die, grows fast, and you can just run the vines anywhere you need them.
Hibiscus can be hard to keep alive in low light, but its good as well. The leaves and flowers are edible, and can be thrown in to gutload.
Actually, Ive noticed that my chams seem to like shefflera for hiding/sleeping. Its ok, I dont think its very visually appealing, and I fequently kill them from overwatering:eek: They are ok though.
I havnt tried ficus, but only because I havnt found one big enough. It seems to have a really good structure for climbing. The massive tree in sdheli420's vid is ficus. ;)
