Viserion, The "Ice Dragon" :)

A question for all, do any of your chams do "laps" around their viv when getting ready for bedtime? Viserion put his almost white and light blue pj's on and started doing laps, like trying to decide where to sleep. This morning his lights came on, then 30 minutes later his mister ran. Little guy was STILL asleep lol. The mister woke him and he went to his basking spot right away. After the mister went off, we put in his feeder with 4 dubias and 5 crickets and breakfast was on :). I think he is not a morning species, like his momma :p

Smurf pretty much has his few selected sleeping spots he chooses from nightly. When I come home from work, the best part of my day is looking for which cozy spot he decided and it cracks me up sometimes when I can't find him at first glance, but then he pops up right in front of me out in the open vines, like here I am fool, hahaha! He usually finds his cozy spot between 5:00-6:00pm, lights out at 7:00. Living in Orlando my apartment stays at 75degrees at night, so on my off days I let him sometimes sleep in his free range ficus tree. He seems to love that!

He was patrolling ;) . Our Septiceye is a crazy patroller .

Really? His urate is the white splotch about an inch from his poo and it was solid white. Unless I'm seeing something wrong. When I cleaned it up, it was solid white and chalky.
Sometime when chameleon don't poop for a day part can be a bit yellow . Hydration being sucked out . James is talking about closes to the poop . I saw the other urate and it's nice and white . I think you are correct with him traveling . Just watch for his next poop . Dont panic viserion looks wonderful .

I'm not sure what schedule he was previously on and even then, it likely was all messed up from the trip to Repticon so I am just assuming it's another adjustment. I think on the weekends when we are home we will let him sleep in a little. He had that groggy "I need coffee" look lol

Very true. He was in a container without any signs of misting when we bought him. He drank from a syringe for at least 30 minutes when we first got him home so he was extremely thirsty. Probably the cause of that bit of orange. We auto-mist him 4 times a day right now and he does drink directly from the mist, then hunts leaves with water drops successfully. I suspected a bit of dehydration but he is recovering from it well. I am hopeful his first vet appointment this weekend will go well.

You'll have to confirm with some of the more experienced members, but from my experience I've been able to train my chams 12/12 cycles to fit my schedule. I have to be at work by 8:00am, so with lights on at 7:00am it gives me enough time mist, clean cage and feed him. I didn't ask the breader of his cycle, but I believe he had Smurf on an earlier cycle then me. Maybe 5:00am or 6:00am based off his behavior.

Ah, good to know! We were laughing so hard at the laps he was doing.
Viserion's is the right age for extra patrolling . As viserion get comfortable with his condo he will do it through out the day . Septiceye has one place he sleeps he puts him self to bed an hour before lights out .

Frances she patrols twice a day . She never sleeps in the same spot but poop in the same spot . Their amazing little gems .

Yes he looks great . Sounds like he's adjusting quite well .

We leave the house by 6:30 am so we have lights on at 5:30, then first mist at 6. We feed as soon as his first mist goes off. Lights out is at 6:30 but last night he was ready to go to sleep an hour before lights out. With the shorter days, we might change lights out to 5:30. I just won't get to see him as much during the week :(

Also depending where he came from . Septiceye came from @Matt Vanilla Gorilla he's in Cal and we are in mass . He initially was putting him self to bed at wacky times , and up well before light . All our babies lights go on at 6:30 . Misters 30 min later . Frances does not get up till misting starts . Our beardies we have to physically get up lol . Our gecko is nocturnal so he's getting up when everyone going to bed .

Yes we change our light schedule to time of year . I was just saying to Matt I needed to change it . It's getting dark around 6:45 . Both chameleon are going to bed for 5:30ish . Oct clocks change and it will be 3:45ish and pretty dark through March . They will be going to bed like 2:30 lol . It amazes me that They have that Instinct throughout the year .

I believe he was on schedule for Eastern time and we are in Central. I think that's why an hour before lights out he is already sleepy.

I know exactly what you mean @Kristen Wilkins! With owning a chameleon it amazes me how truly smart they are! I tell people all the time that chameleons with their little brains are actually smarter than some dogs! #fact

Their so smart . I hear often how dumb they are with their tiny brains . Well I don't have any of those dumb one's . I'm very lucky I own my own business , I can come home on suprise visits . I also have a 14 year old Human child ;). Work is walking distance . I often pop in to see everyone .
