Visual Isolation

For those of us that do not have their Male and Female Panthers in separate rooms ( along with separate misting systems, etc.. ) and visually isolated, what do you recommend be done so as to not trigger the female to start producing eggs? Would a sheet of some sort separating the cages be sufficient? Then, when and if I am ready to try breeding, I could remove the screen/sheet to see if they are both receptive? Would this be an acceptable approach? Mine are both young right now ( Male 4 months, Female is 7 ) so I have a little bit of time, but not much and want to be prepared now.

Thanks for your help.

I easily separate cages visualy, with anything from cardboard between cages or like black landscaping cloth. For a more visually attractive look, cut it to fit and tack to side of cage that are visual to other cages and such.

Yeah I use aquarium backgrounds. You can cut them to fit any size cage and when you mist the wter just runs down into my drainage trays. They last forever and you can get em in green or blue, or even nature aquascapes. I prefer the simple blue or green.

Perfect. That's just what I was hoping to hear as I didn't want to do something that would cause issues.

Thanks again!

Titan,

Still waiting on a response to your other thread about what you found in the garage! ;)

Hey, Just got done taking pic's of cages and will start posting all that now.
And if you were to get a cage I would add in enough barrier for 3 sides of the cage:D
