Walking stick food

So what can i BUY to feed/gutload some walking sticks? Im not talking about berry bush leaves privet, but stuff i can get at the local store.

In the spring or summer i dont have a problem since i have all those plants(and 2 mulberry bushes) but for at least 1/3 of the year i am leafless.

I know your problem well. I am 30 miles south of Canada. I have a nice ficus tree being destroyed by my sticks. I know the world says they won't eat something like a ficus, but mine did when they got really hungry. I also feed them bok choi, I didn't know to steam it, so mine get it fresh. But the silly things like the ficus best. My sticks are about 5 inches long, I am so proud.:)

It was David who advised to steam it! Fortunately I still have bramble in the garden. I might leave some in the viv on the ficus.

I am much further both than you, and have wild blackberries year around. I would think if you have them for 9 months of the year, they would be there the other 3...

If you have Indian Sticks, they will eat IVY and Romaine lettuce. I don't know of any artificial food in the US.:(

I feed mine mostly berry vine... And some rose vines that do not get sprayed. They don't seem that meaty to me to use as a staple bug. I use mine as as a treat bug for the big guys when I can spare a big one.I mostly use them to feed to my baby cham's having issues switching from ff to crickets. Sorta like a gateway bug. There's something about them that baby chameleons cant resist. They are easy to raise it just takes a few months to get them reproducing.

since blackberry bramble retains it leaves year round, and grows wild and free, I mostly use that (though sometimes I have to clear some snow off first). Dandelion leaves they will also eat if they ahve to, as well as romaine lettuce.

I have gotten mine to eat pretty much any leafy thing as well as a few other veggies that were shredded (they once ate carrots and potatoes!) I have read that they will eat ficus somewhere, and I have had some that ate it, so you aren't alone laurie! I once had these giant sticks, that I forgot to feed for a day or two, and they started to eat the tag that was on the pop-up laundry basket they were in! I've never had much trouble feeding mine. Of course they seem to prefer brambles over other foods, but they have eaten all sorts of lettuces and leafy greens when I didn't have any bramble on hand.
