watering live plants question

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and have yet to get my panther chameleon, but I'm currently researching and something came to mind that I haven't come across since ive been reading posts. I've read the plant list and read that some plants are a bit more finicky than others with watering and wondered if anyone has used the mini aqua globes as a watering system for the plants? Would there be any risk to the chameleon, like slipping on it by freak accident? Any opinions on this? I've just been reading the dilemma with plant drainage and the assumed issue of plant dehydration and wondered if they're pushed down enough if this would solve the problem.

Oh! Those things! Ok.
I could see a situation where they could be useful I guess. I have a too much water problem. Sheffleras seem to really not deal with overwatering well, and I frequently kill them:eek:

I have never "watered" my plants. I gave them a good soaking at repotting, but they seem to do just fine with regular mistings. It's been a couple of weeks and no die off and lots of new growth, so, "If it aint broke..."
I wouldn't want to put anything glass in the enclosure, just in case of the "freak accident". Ever see the "Final Destination" movies. If it can't happen...It will.

I don't believe those would serve much purpose. Like Patrick said, I don't ever "water" my plants directly....misting daily is enough to water the plants (and you have to do that to keep up humidity and give the chameleons something to drink anyway)

If your dripper is set up to hit the leaves of the plant, then enough should make it's way to the root system on it's own. I use ficus trees in all my enclosures and have never had any kind of need to water any of them, if they are looking a little dry I simply move my dripper till that plant has gotten it's fill - on top of daily misting, this provides plenty of water for the plants.

Have you tried re-potting with a better draining mixture?
