What do you think of this guy?

So I found a male panther off craigslist, (actually female) I emailed the owner and talked to her about him. He's a red barred Ambilobe male, about 7 months old. I asked about her dusting schedule and looks like she has him on a good schedule.

She's selling him as she no longer has time for him and will be traveling around all summer and can't find a babysitter for him. She told me she thinks he's depressed  as he's been in a windowless room. He looks alright from the pictures that I've seen of him. I attached pics, two are from when he was 6 months and the next two are current. I was concerned about his legs from the pics and then realized the branches are looking to be way too small for him!!

He comes with everything...his cage and lights, etc. She's asking $300 for him...What do you think?

Good I was just thinking that when I was uploading the pics...guess I'll have to pass then.

Well I emailed the seller and told her that he is really a she..thank you for the double confirmation :) I'm wondering what she's going to tell me

Well I talked to the seller, she was sold a female instead of a male. Guess I'll have to pass on her, her laying eggs would stress me out :(
I told her I may have to pass and she suddenly told she really has to be a he as he's never laid eggs. I'm taking everyones advice on here, everyones more experienced. At what point do females start laying their first clutches?

You can have her Curt! :D
I'll trade you her for one of your breeders :D I wish lol

When you get a female make sure they have some sorta photo proof of the sires blood lines.it is impossable to to tell the local of female panthers by there colors or markings

Yes she did, as I was uploading the pics I realized there was no way she was a he...so I wanted to see what everyone else thinks. And everyone agrees female...the seller was told she was a he. Once I told her that I didn't want a female due to eggs she denied her being a her and said she has lots of color and hasn't laid a clutch and therefore is male, she's only 7 months old.

I wish she would at least accept that she really is a female and not try to deny it.

What kind of photo proof? I was sent a photo image but don't really see how this is proof. Anyone could just show a pic from any sire. Is there some type of" real" proof?

I actually decided on a smaller type cham. I have no interest in breeding anyways and have always liked males better whether they're dogs or cats or chameleons. My fish is even male! I like boys :D

It does seem to be kinda big for a female, depending on age. Any idea how old?Females are a little strange. If NEVER introduced to a male, I've heard they might not ever lay eggs. Would this be your first chameleon? If so, I might wait on a good male who's pretty colorful :) they are a lot less intense than females too :p

I have a male blue bar ambilobe which is why I was thinking of this other cham. Having a blue bar and red bar would be awesome. Since shes female I'm going to pass...and shes 7 months old. Even if she never laid eggs I'd still be worried knowing myself. Hopefully she'll go to a good home.

Well if the chams owner doesn't even kno its a female and is convinced its a male, then why would she put a laying bin in there. So that's probably the reason the cham hasn't laid eggs. You should let that lady kno that if she doesn't start caring for that cham as a female then there is a good chance she(or the next owner/buyer) will lose her from being egg-bound(<-i think its the right word). Or you could give us all her email and she can get all of our 2cents.
