What is YOUR refund policy?

A year later? I would offer a discounted future female. This person waited a year come on. A males colors usually come in around six months.

this is i think k.multis not panthers my friend, but yeah i think a whole year is too long

I think that a year constitutes that the statute of limitations has run out. It should not have taken a year to realize the mistake. I think you are being more than generous with your offer. Even Walmart won't give a refund after three weeks. Live animal sales are as is. This buyer is scamming you. JMHO

Every chameleon I've bought I've considered "as is". If it turned out to be the wrong gender, I would consider that my issue. I think any compensation you give is "good customer service".

I will say that this species is not as sexually dimorphic as some. I had a female that could easily have been mistaken for a male, even as an adult (the whole dying eggbound thing was a give away though).

I would try to look at all sides of the issue. You sold this person a "pair". Ok great, you are not the first and will not be the last to make the mistake. Like Chuck I would be very careful in taking back a chameleon after it has been in the care of someone else. I would make an option to the buyer. A discount on another chameleon - sex not guaranteed, and say you are sorry. As long as you said you thought they were a pair and did not guarantee it, I think you are off the hook. Offering a discount is just excellent customer service. All of us who know you, would tell the buyer that you have did your best at sexing, and either way have provided quality, healthy chameleons. You obligation has been fulfilled.

Some people just can't be pleased.

Im glad to see a thread like this. This will help me in the future as well.
So I guess the best way to sell chams at a young age is to not garrentee the sex? How do you guys say this to a customer?

I would say something like
Now the sex is not guaranteed, Since its almost immpossible to tell the sex of babys. Im almost sure its right, but if its not, you can come back and get a 20 discount on any item.
Thats what I would say, it makes them feel comfortable and you dont have to give them another cham and go through a big hassel.

seeco do what you feel is right in your heart and you can never go wrong. peace love and man hugs!!! its been a year he is s.o.l. if he wants another one give him a discount but your chams are very well priced so i don't see dropping to a lower price the shipping itself would be more then then chams at your price baby cakes!!!

Im with Chuck G. I'd never accept an animal back after it was in someone elses care. Your rolling the dice with your whole collections health.

Id tell them they are lucky with what they got. You provide the comunity with a rarely seen CB species and for dirt cheap prices. Offer a discounted female when one is ready and if they wont accept that tell them to shove it:cool:

Wow this thread is getting big. Unlike the real pro breeders I do not feel like I am taking much of a risk by airing my personal business. I am glad to be the one to generate this discussion. I can not remember if I gave an absolute guarantee of sex but I do know that both their rostrals were under 1mm at time of sale. Still have not heard back. Interesting thoughts about the possibility of disease. I really do not want to imagine it could be a WC switch job!

I think they mean the cham you sold him. Not a WC. Because after a year in his home. It could have parisites or other problems you dont want to deal with. It could be bad.

Thanks for starting this thread. It has opened my eyes as a future seller.

Oops -- in a personal message someone raised the possibility of a switch, not here.
