I’ve never heard of a “home kit” for testing stool samples for parasites. Unless you have a microscope and know what to look for, you’ll need to bring a sample to a qualified vet.
I can't believe a vet would not do these types of tests. Seems like one of the basic services that they would provide. However, here is a link to a blog about doing your own...
I know in Hawaii, Jackson Chameleons are considered an invasive species. Not quite sure if that has anything to do with it. For the most part, lots people get them as pets. They have no idea what is required to properly raise a chameleon. The pet stores first sold me a glass cage, and I found out that I needed a screen cage. I demanded a refund for a real cage. They even gave me a hassle for that after selling me the wrong cage. I called the vet for a stool test and they said they dont offer that service. Since the island is so crowded these days, I don't want to drive into some place in town which would require i travel in heavy traffic. As far as caring for them, people tend to get them as pets here with no idea how to properly care for them. It amazes me the lack of understanding. Especially since they can develop bone diseases if you do not properly maintain their diets and regulate their UV exposure. I wish that was explained to me prior to owning one and now I'm stuck with two.
