Who has 24" Quad Arcadia? LYR out of stock

I'm looking for a recommended 24" fixture to go on top of a Dragon Strand Large Breeder cage. It looks like LYR is out of stock of pretty much everything 24".

Suggestions? Newb here so I'm a bit reticent to buy an aquarium or plant light. 24" x 4 6500K plus UVB safely (no out of band please) is what I want I think. Too bad LYR isn't ready to sell right now...

TIA

I currently have two left in stock and should be getting more of everything shortly. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I'm with you on buying a name brand. I highly recommend the Arcadia lights.

I'm replacing all my lighting with Arcadia lights. I have 4 chamelons under them now. Previously I had a similar light to the Arcadia quad, but made my ZooMed. I think the price of the Arcadia and the ZooMed was about the same.

The difference between the two is incredible.

This is all anecdotal experience, but everyone perked up under the new lights. Granted, the brand new ZooMeds (oldest would be about 6 or 7 weeks old) were not producing much UVB.

My male veiled was not gaining as much as I thought he should. He didn't move around in his cage much and was not a very pretty color. He wasn't a very aggressive eater and I never saw him hunting, but he was gaining weight slowly.

I turned on his Arcadia quad and he immediately started moving around the cage. I hand fed him something like 10 silkworms and he was aggressive about eating, which was new. His color is nicer, more blue green rather than dull brown green. He just looks more vital.

Yesterday I got my second bank lights and put them up over a couple of wild caught quads that were imported mid December. One has a hurt leg that no one has been able to diagnose because the quality of the x-ray is poor. One suggestion was MBD. He wasn't very active but I attributed that to his hurt leg. I received a light meter and measured his UVB of his old lights and found he was getting none, which was a shock. He had been looking really good and then as soon as I posted some pictures of him looking good, he started to look not so good. Yesterday he developed black spots so he was checked out by the vet. The vet blames all his woes on his lousy lighting--bacterial skin infection, hurt leg is probably MBD, and even the slight gular edema.

So, he got his new lights this morning and the first thing I notice is that he starts moving around the cage vertically, which was new.

I wish I had bought Arcadia lights to begin with. After my experience with the other bulbs, I also think maybe everyone should have a light meter. My bulbs were new, not even 2 months. I'm going to have to check them very carefully before I get in touch with ZooMed--I might not be doing it right. In the mean time, I will buy some new bulbs to just to be safe.

Indoor garden shops and sometimes Home D will carry 4 bulb 24" t5 fluorescent fixtures. They are really common for horticulture. Lots of options and price ranges too. You still want Arcadia tubes though. Best in the business. I have never read an "I hate my Arcadia's, my cham is unhappy" thread.

Yes, because they have become so popular I sold out of quads in the 24".
I order so many... but I have know way of knowing that they would go so VIRAL.
Yes- I will have more, and they just were ordered--but they will not be here that soon.-- because as everyone knows by now, these are made from scratch for lyr... and then shipped, and that is not a quick process. *e=hem*
NOW, here is a good solution.
Not perfect, but good....
I do have 24" doubles and if you would like 2 of those for a special - complete with Arcadia's,
then the effect & end result would be just the same with 4 bulbs.

If so, then shoot me an e-mail.
It actually has an advantage because;);) you can space them out farther apart and put the heat done light between them.
Cheers!

All my chams have Arcadia's from LYR. Todd has always been an excellent person to work with. I am happy to see that he has a way to make the light fixtures he has work for you.

Todd,

Thanks for bringing these to market. I ended up making an order with a different site sponsor, but will be happy to look to you again in the future when I need something more.

LYR quad placement

Can you place the LYR Cham right on top of a zoo med mesh aluminum cage or does it have to be elevated?

Normally you can place it right on top as long as the basking branch is a few inches below it as the daylight bulbs will produce some heat. If your ambient temps in the room are too high and cause the basking spot to become too hot then I would recommend putting the feet on the fixture to allow for some added air flow which will cool things down.

Thanks, Nick.

I plan on the LYR quad fixture and a Aquazamp Raindome.... will there be enough room on a 24x24x48 enclosure for a single of dual dome basking lamp?
