With this budget, what setup would you get

Gotcha, then it's 30% with the plastic on there?
My hygrometer has a history function and overnight it got down to 30% with no misting and the plastic was up. Granted, the misting system did not run much during the day - just one 5 minute session and a couple of small sessions while testing. That and your article is what generated the idea that maybe I need to have some very short misting sessions overnight, like 15 seconds or less

Gotcha, let it run a full schedule and see what it does the next coupe of days. Track it again after you add the other plants in that haven't been added and go from there.

Yeah - that's why you should always set up your enclosure early! There will always be these little things to monitor for a bit!

And today, the temps are blazing hot - so now figuring out a way to hang the plant and basking lights so I can adjust the height to get appropriate temps...using command hooks on the ceiling & strips on the walls. :D Gotta love living in an apartment & not being able to put holes where you want! Command strips/hooks are the best invention ever! But humidity is 40% with no water going at all!

Lol that they are. If you cant get that to work, you can make a "rack" out of emt....

Something like this. Couldn't find the pic I was looking for with 3 domes hung above the tank lol.

So what is the rationale between the old & new methods?

https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/new-humidifier-to-test-the-naturalistic-approach.165524/

There are some keepers that are mainly using the fogging technique with no misting at all and are successful. I still want to simulate rainfall and mist because the plants benefit as well, and the opportunity to drink is there if needed.

If the humidity is dropping off that much at night there is no issue with a short misting session, just don't saturate the enclosure.

Late to the party as usual . :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. Btw, did some rather interesting (to me) number crunching this past weekend. All I can say is, on laptop screen :))) , let there be the sun in my cages :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

New here! What are the advantages of the MistKing? Tx!
Welcome!

The Mistking is the industry standard for misting systems. 1 basic model can run up to 10 nozzles (multiple cages) and generate a superfine mist with the capability to program to run multiple misting sessions per day, down to just a few seconds per misting session...or several minutes. Not each session has to be the same length either. Other systems have limitations - all sessions have to be the same duration, the mist isn't as fine, they provide the reservoir limiting how much fluid can be held (requiring more frequent fill ups), etc. You really want an automated system as quickly as possible as chameleons require specific humidity and hand misting cannot accomplish that easily.

Everything except its expense! Finer mist, completely customizable, a reservoir as big as you want, etc. It’s top of the line!
But when you look at it - the monsoon is $74 on Amazon

The basic mistking is $129 on amazon. If you have ANY thought you might want more than 1 cham, or are building/getting a large cage it is worth the extra $55 to get the mistking

Everywhere I’ve looked, the MistKing is over $300! I guess I should’ve digged deeper!

That's the same price for the starter mistking on their website too. I got the ultimate, which can run 20 nozzles, because that was recommended by the makers for the size of both my cages & the fact that I have 2 other species that can eventually be hooked up to it. It is $100 more

So stand is made for the lights & temps are much better...will continue to monitor. I'm fighting with the misting timer but I'm sure it is operator error...so off to find instructional material. My new lightweight but strong pots came in...need to plant, hang, attach, and finish decorating the cage...then finish feeder bins before the feeders arrive! And another camping trip this weekend!
