Wondering if anyone have suggestions on what I can do to limit the amount of excess water that collects at the bottom of my cage. It is glass on the bottom so I can't think of a way to create a drainage, unless I find something that can drill a hole through the glass (inexpensive way). I do...
Same questions. Here are some specifics. I have a 24(h)x24(D)x18(w). I am planning to put a few perches at least 5" from the top for basking. The panther chameleon will be about 3-4 months old. What wattage (at least) clear house light bulb would I need? I would like to start off low then...
I plan on putting some wooden dowels in my chameleon enclosure to use as horizontal perches. What can I use to keep it from rotting from the moisture due to misting? Any non-toxic sealants?
Anyone think it would be a good idea to use small computer fans to create additional air flow for a chameleon enclosure. I think the small amount of air flow from a computer fan would mimic the breeze the chameleon would get in their natural habitat. Good idea or more problems would arise...
Has anyone heard of doing this? There is a reptile owner with many years of experience recommended that I use a specific brand of dog calcium supplement for my chameleon. (don't remember name of brand). He stated that many gecko and bearded dragon breeders use the brand of calcium to dust their...
I am planning on using Dubia roaches as my panther chameleon's staple food. Is there any concerns for doing this? I don't want to keep crickets in the house, that will drive my wife crazy. I have heard from other reptile owners that Dubia roaches are more nutritious than crickets.
I want to make it as natural as possible. I really don't like a plastic pot with a plant in the middle of enclosure. I guess I can always go all artificial.
I know having substrate in a chameleon enclosure could be potentially dangerous. However, is there any way to safely have substrate. For instance, what if a good layer of leaf litter was put over the soil? Enough leaf litter so that it would take some physical digger to get to the soil? Has...
Forgive me if this question is stupid. I am still a newbie. I am assuming that you load up the crickets or whatever bug into the container? This is to keep the bugs from just staying on the ground and make it easier for the chameleon to get to?
On January 18, 2013, Assemblywoman Barbara M. Clark (D-Queens Village) introduced Assembly Bill 2869 which was referred to Agriculture the same day. A2869 seeks to criminalize all ownership of wild animals or reptiles “capable of inflicting bodily harm upon a human” as a felony.

What is the opinion on the Zoomed Fogger as an additional misting system? I plan on using this fogger on a timer, setting it to be long enough to bring on water beading and then have it shut off long enough to let enclosure dry before next round.
I hope to get ideas and placement of dripping system for my enclosure. I would also like to get ideas of drainage systems, mostly pictures of the bottom of the enclosure. I've seen pictures of the drainage system under the enclosure, so I have an idea of what to do. So if anyone is willing...
