    Charlie's back!

Thanks everyone. Yes, we are super excited, and very lucky, to have found him. A little update, Charlie is settling into his outdoor cage and seems to be doing better. His urate, still has some orange tinge to it but is predominately white. I have not yet seen him eat but there are fewer...

    Charlie's back!

So, after a year of being MIA, I had the fortunate luck to find my daughter's lizard, Charlie, hanging out in my neighbor's tree today. Husband has been diagnosed w/ PTSD

As a combat vet with many friends that have been diagnosed with PTSD, I can say that many of them have made great strides using service animals, if it is an option, I highly suggest the program.

The basking light is actually outside the enclosure. I wanted to have it all enclosed, but I couldn't think of a way have it in the enclosure without potential problems.

    Charlie's new home project

Here are some pics of a curio cabinet that I repurposed into a terrarium for my veiled, Charlie. This has been an extensive and exhausting project, but to highlight some of the features, the enclosure started out as a curio cabinet from Craig's list. 1. Sand and repaint. The inside was painted...

    Picture update of Charlie

I came home and he was just starting. So far, he has rid most of his underside and is working some branches pretty good to get his head. I give him a day or two and, if there are still some patches, it will be the shower for him.

Slow down, speech tempo increases under stress and can make you more stressed. Above all, don't over memorize, just be prepared...

    Releasing chams into the wild.

I have been told, but not actually seen it, that there is a wild population of Jackson's Chameleons living and thriving in Laguna Canyon, Ca. A classmate of mine said that he and a herpetologist friend collect specimens that are ill, get them patched up and return them to the canyon. Like I...
