It is the same cham. He hasn't lost any toenails on that foot but he does have a loose nail on it. I suppose that could be the cause, but he lost four nails on his front feet before we could manage to get something larger to line the mesh that was too small. He never did this with any of the others.
This morning I noticed my male veiled (about 8 months old) hanging one of his back legs off the branch he was perched on. I thought nothing of it until I came home to see it again. I did my research and from everything I've read, it looks like gout. We are going to try and take him to a vet, but...
I posted about this the other day, but I have an adult male veiled who had two gnarly looking toe nails earlier this week. One of them has fallen off completely and I've been keeping a careful eye on the toe to watch for an infection, and keeping his cage clean. The other one is progressively...
So I've got a 7 or 8 month old male veiled and one nail on each front foot looks abnormally long and turned a little bit. It doesn't seem to cause him trouble waking or climbing, and he's still got his appetite. Should I be concerned? Is this normal? He's my first chameleon so I'm not sure what...
What a beautiful little boy! Such a nice set up as well. My advice to you is if you're interested in handling him a lot when he gets older, make sure to spend a lot of time getting him used to you while he's a baby! This could include simply spending a lot of time around his terrarium, placing...
So I've got a male veiled who is somewhere in between 6 and 8 months (the store wasn't sure) and I've had him since the beginning of September. The spikes on the top on his back are black, and I'm not sure if is is his natural coloration or a bruise or burn of some kind. It's also right where...
So I just found this stunning picture of what is captioned to be a four horned chameleon. I'm new to owning chameleons and being interested in them, so I wasn't shocked that I hadn't heard of it before, but I've never seen anyone have a guy like this as a pet! Are they not commonly kept? Are...
Hi, I've got a male veiled cham around 5-7 months old (the pet store didn't know, but people on here gave me an estimate based on his size). Right now, I'm keeping him in a 16x16x36 (inches) home. I do realize that eventually I will have to move him into a larger enclosure, and I plan on getting...
Hi there! I have a 5 month old male veiled chameleon. He's been getting these crusty white clumps in his nose. I always make sure to dislodge them by simply running my finger across it, so it's not like they're deeply rooted in. I read a little bit about it online, where it said that they could...
I turn all the lights out but I do leave a light on in the kitchen as low as I can, just so that if he wakes up at any point in the night and needs move, he can see a bit. But he's fallen asleep with a room fully lit before.
