I agree with Psychobunny. Warm showers work everytime for my guy. I put him on this pothos (I should say his pothos as he's quite fond of it) which is on a stand. I place it in the shower, aim the shower head at the wall so the warm water doesn't directly blast him, and let the ricocheting water...
That picture literally brought tears to my eyes...how can anyone treat an animal like that? I know many Cham purchases can be impulse buys, but look at that little face! Just one look and you can know he feels awful! Thank you so much for rescuing him; sending you both lots of positive thoughts...
That article was certainly distressing. It is very disheartening that many do not understand that the tiniest of creatures can serve as primary ecological health indicators in certain ecosystems; many of such species are not warm and fuzzy like the koala or as awe inspiring as the tiger. I...
Hello again- if I came off rude, I entirely apologize. I know it can be overwhelming when getting so many responses; it may feel like you are under verbal attack and judging by the amount of threads you have posted, you are obviously a concerned Cham owner. In my short time on this forum I have...
Hi there! I got my guy around the same time as you; same age, same species. He looks gorgeous! I'll post a pic of Mr. Wagz (AKA Pascal, AKA Pascallywagz, AKA Mr. Wagz...ya I'm a dork) tomorrow as he's shedding right now. I read a very interesting thread by Olimpia regarding panther growth and...
If I were you I'd listen to the more experienced members on this forum, heed their advise and get your Cham to a vet familiar with exotics ASAP. It is also difficult to understand your "text" writing. Both members that offered you advise are experienced with Chams so I would not second guess...
I too ordered silkies for my Cham; he ate three & then never touched them again. I tried to reintroduce them for weeks after until they grew too big for him to eat. He just plain didn't like them.
Lol! My hubby is starting to get on board...he doesn't understand the whole forum thing though & how beneficial it's been for both my Pascallywagz and myself! Pascal is on his sweet side though because he seems to favor my other half over me
I just wanted to thank all of the knowledgeable & experienced members on this forum. Your wisdom has helped me immensely. Reading the plethora of information that is offered via this site has and is helping me become an educated and responsible chameleon owner. I have had a few chameleons in the...
Thanks for the videos! Maybe I'll modify the region in which I placed mine. It sits below a piece of bamboo so he can pluck them off from above. I like the "drive by" dining. He may have used his cup once but I have been naughty and feeding him on his favorite plant (I,ve been off work for a...
I stand corrected...my lame monsoon system only allows 2 minutes of misting per interval. I thought that I had fixed that issue by bypassing its built in timer via using my own timer, having the monsoon kick on for 4 minutes at a time but no. Thankfully I hand mist him also. So frustrating...
I personally have my monsoon (which I'm not super pleased with) come on 5 times a day for 4 minutes. The reason for so much is that I modified the monsoon's misters...increasing them from 2 misters to 4. This is so the foliage in Pascallywagz enclosure can receive moisture from all angles...
Love the pics! My sister just moved out if my house so soon Pascal will have his own room & free range area..I just have to do a bit more research on it. So happy to hear he's feeling content and comfy!
It reminds me of popcorn busting out if a kernel when they shed. My guy is gearing up for one too! He's a pale and pastel looking. He just got finished with a nice warmish shower to help him along with it.
