eye issue in this case seems to be from a infection caused from the wood chops possibly molding. wood cant handle moisture at all, or it rots, and molds pretty quick also she may have gotten her eye in it. we need a picture of her eye, and anything else you can describe about her. no one can say...
i look for new info on this matter to be released in the next few years on how to stimulate better external bone growth, and we might start seeing some techniques to get toenails back ect. There still need to be a lot of natural chameleon studies done to be sure on this, but i hope we can find a...
i honestly think it has 110% to do with the conditions they are in before they come to you. both my veiled are mean, but i can deal with them, and they get over it. they will gape, and hiss, but they dont bite they just act tough, but 3 of 3 jacksons i have delt with were nice and would just...
I love the jacksonii for no other reason than they look like little triceratops =P
I had a uncle that had them before, and they were very friendly too so that also plays into it. i would prefer those to anything else even though i own veiled
naturally they dig into the ground and lay them then forget them. so this is done in mainly areas with high humidity, and rainfall so i would imagine the ground stays pretty moist.
rocks can mold, and grow algae too if water constant sits on them, or under them IE in a plant with rocks on the top you have a higher chance of mold under the rocks since it does evaporate. i though about using rocks myslef, but he kept trying to eat them, and hes going to get bigger as well so...
i use a bleach solution like 1 to 9 parts of water, and then do light scrubbing on the branches. after that i soak them in water after flushing them throughly for a few mins, and i add reptisafe in the water they soak in to help eliminate bad things
also dont boil it that stuff comes off super...
I use peat moss and so do a good bit of other people, and it doesn't stink, and doesn't mold. I use a plain untreated potting soil for my plants and top them with peat moss, and i also have a full peat moss laying bin for her when she needs to lay in there for future use. no mold issues, but...
wave a super around and see what happens =P, but really at evening about an hour b4 the sunsets look at low branches , and twords the ends of them. they will be out on them so they can more easily feel vibrations of foraging night time creatures while sleeping
yeah i wouldn't worry about adding too much vitamin A for the next month, but normal supplementation would be fine imo. I didnt see the pics prior to, and yes that would be an anole. like i said before you would have a better chance from feeding him cricket farm crickets. if i still lived in FL...
poor jack. im sorry for your loss =( this now makes 3 chams in the past week that i have followed, or know that have died. did you determine the cause of death? (dont answer if you dont want to)
if it was an anole, or gecko your fine. this is even said to be done to keep up a good vitamin balance. if it was a wild lizard say from FL, or TX, and you live in a clean area. I would say you have a better change at giving your cham parasites from store bought crickets in that case
not a super perhaps not, but worms are indigenous to every part of the world you just have to look, but they eat worms in the wild IE grub ect. not all of yeman is a desert. mountain dwelling species have plenty of shrubby, and land insects to eat. they do find crickets since most of the...
