My next pet will be a...?

Ballin it didn't take too long with the female, maybe a month. The male took several before he was completely calm all the time. He was very flighty, jumping away all over the place! They both are very docile now. Their daughter is just a spoiled thing! Very nice from the begining, we held...

    baby cham won't eat crickets

I take out the fruit flies for a week at a time and put in crickets instead. I can't bear to do it any longer than that. She is only a few months so she is still very small. She does look like she could eat a small cricket if she wanted. I put feeders in a bowl.

    What tree?

Hey everybody, I have a question, what is a good tree for a huge cham? I bought a 4 ft bushy ficus tree(the kind with the braided trunks) for my cham but because he is so big and heavy he destroyed it. The branches are all broken and bent down from his weight and all the leaves fell off. He...

    baby cham won't eat crickets

I have a Veiled cham I hatched out a few months ago. All siblings are sold but I decided to keep this one because she is just too cute:) I have fed her fruit flies since she hatched. Every time I offer crickets she will not touch them. I offer them every week and nothing. I've tried...

    dark colors and very frightened

I read that you handle her every day. Maybe this is why when she sees you or your boyfriend she turns dark and hides. Some chameleons do not like to be held or only want to be held when they choose it, not when you choose it. I've seen chams that don't mind being held as babies but once they...

    Rex:video update

Thanks:) I'm not sure. What's normal weight for a Parsons? Rex is a few grams shy of 500. He is also a little over 2 ft long. He 's the biggest cham I've ever seen, lol!

Help. Can chams react badly to antibiotics?

Did he have blood drawn? I notice after my chams have blood drawn they are lethargic and dehydrated for a few days. They have sunken in eyes at night when they sleep. This always freaks me out and I make them drink water even if they don't do it on their own. This gets them hydrated agian...

    Panacur suspension question!?!

Your cham should be fine unless it's not healthy. If the cham is really sick from the parasite or unhealthy from something else then it could die. Out of all the reptiles I've treated only one died. This was because she was really really sick with the parasite and had been untreated for...

    black spots

It does look like burn(badly burnt) that is infected. I would take it back unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount of money at the vet's trying to make it better. Take it from me getting a cham back to health is VERY expensive. I rehab and rescue chams and other herps too.

    Rex:video update

So I just got back from the vet's office and......he can come off the meds!!!! Hooray!!!!! Funny, she went to weigh him and I told her how he wasn't eating much on his own so I was feeding him the leftovers in his bowl at the end of the day, so he might have lost weight. Ha Ha, he...

My next pet will be a...?

A great gecko is the White lined gecko. My pair produced my son's first pet reptile. Her name is Necrid and she is extremely spoiled. My son carries her around all the time and she sits on his head while he plays video games. They are the close relative of the Tokay. I also take my pair to...

    Fertile eggs?

I've heard of incubating in the 80's and at room temp. I did the first clutch in the incubator at 80 and now I'm doing the current clutch at room temp. Supposedly doing them at room temp is better because they grow slower and stronger in the egg making them healthier babies. This is why I am...

    using a sirnge frequently?

Syringe watering is ok but I have a cham who ONLY drinks water this way because that's how the prev owner watered him. It is a pain in the butt to do EVERY day because it takes 15-20 mins until he has had his fill. I wish he would drink water off leaves or use a dripper. I even tried a water...

    Fungus on Flap?

Ok but I really think it is a fungus:( I hope it is not though. Keep us updated. Summoner the first pic looks like fungus. If it does not go away and starts spreading over time it is fungus. Rex had the same looking areas as both your chams. It never went away and spread. New areas...

    please read!

I'm glad you figured it out! BTW I highly recommend everyone getting the book "Understanding Reptile Parasites". It's maybe $10 and it is very informative about all types of parasites including intestinal protozoa. It shows pics and tells you signs, symptoms, and treatment. It could...
