Whats better reptisun 5.0 tube or the 10.0 tube

5.0 UVB - 290-310NM Range - 12 inches percentage - 5% 10.0 UVB 290-310NM Range - 24 inches percentage - 10% Those are the differences between the Reptisun 5.0 and 10.0 UVB fluorescent bulbs. Many users only upgrade to the 10.0 with tall cages other then that the 5.0 works just fine...

    New to Chams

This is everything I've gathered so far in my 3 months of researching Chameleon's. Everyone of them have something good to offer and give some great insight into caring and husbandry. http://www.reptiledepot.com/ http://www.reptilesupply.com/index.php https://www.chameleonforums.com/...

    R Zilla 25 tropical bulb?

yeah I've been reading up on these as well but I haven't found any information as to how much UVB they put out or in what range of nanometers they emit UVB in so I'm sure how well they are. Exo-Terra and Reptisun both state these ranges in their magazines which are very important to know. As far...

    Flexarium And Uvb...

For the mesh cages like the flexarium's some use the 10.0 and some use the 5.0 the only difference in the two is that the 10.0 puts out 5% more UVB than the 5.0 and 10.0 extends UVB up to 24 Inches where as the 5.0 only 12 inches. Either work just as fine. I would only suggest if u use the 10.0...

    flexarium + basking spotlight positioning...

That's correct, those are basking bulb distances, regular house bulbs will have to be placed much closer of course. :) I have a 60 watt that sits on my felxarium all day long with no melting or fire. not to say that it's 100% safe though, I keep it raised a couple inches off the material just to...

    Any Vegetarian Owners?

Are you kidding, I respect vegetarians. I just know I could never live as one. To me there is nothing better than a nice juicy steak, or prime rib. Hamburgers with lots of cheese, and burritos deep fried and covered in chili and cheese. MMMMmmm... I do enjoy many fruits and I crave a good salad...

    A couple of questions.

Could you direct the line into a small 3-5 gallon bucket, heat it up from there then have the misting system pull water directly from the bucket instead of from the main water line?

    flexarium + basking spotlight positioning...

This one of the recommendations I found on adequate lighting distant from cages, it works well for me. 40 Watt Basking Bulb Distance From Bulb 6" = 110° 12" = 95° 18" = 80° 60 Watt Basking Bulb Distance From Bulb 6" = 120° 12" = 101° 18" = 89° 75 Watt Daylight Bulb Distance...

    Will these eggs be viable?

Geez, ratios, consistency, mold worries. Makes you wonder how any chameleon's ever hatch in the wild. All I've ever seen on video's is the female finds a place to leave her eggs, digs a hole, lays them them then that's it. Maybe they have some sort of beacon that detects perfect soil/moisture...

    Are these plants safe?

These are sites that lists quite a few plants that are known to be safe for Chameleon's. The most popular one's are listed on chameleon forums but this site has much more of an array of non-toxic plants. http://webhome.idirect.com/~chameleon/owners/chapter2-sub5.html...

    Nice Metal Racks

$110 dang. Is the darn thing made out of gold brass plating or something? We're talking about a freaking metal rack here, not the luxury cruise liner of fine antique racks, geez. I like the one's that pohchunyee posted, at least they are affordable and I'll still have money left over for the...

    Reptariums

I bought a 38 gallon reptarium for my Cham and at first I wasn't to happy about it. Especially after reading all the bad replies about them. But as Chameleon Palace said, they work just fine. You should be happy with the 260 gallon cage you bought. After a while mine grew on me and I like it...
