If I was you, I would start telling him facts about Chameleons. That would let him know that you have done your research, and are very interested in them.
My veileds wont even think about eatting out of my hand. But I got them both cup feeding, and I have now gotten one of them to start eatting out of a clear cup while I'm holding it. I'm hoping soon he will just eat out of my hand.
That's a great story! My 10 year old son and I also spend a good bit of time together caring for out reptiles. We share all the care. (I do most but he assists me). We live on a pesticide free farm, so we will go to the field can collect insects. He likes to mist my chams, and almost completely...
I live in Ohio too. I have fed them to my bearded dragon no problem. He runs around like godzilla, pigging them down. My chams are too small to fed them.

I finally ordered some dubis roach nymphs for my chams to try before I start a colony. They haven't arrived yet. But I was wondering if they would be too big for my 8 and 9week old nosy faly babies to eat. I'm pretty sure they can because they eat 1/4 crickets, but these are ¼ - ½ inch in...
I have always love reptiles. Even when I was about four years old my dad caught a gater snake in the yard. He yelled for me and my brother to come see it. My brother took of running and I asked to pet it. He wasn't surprised at all when I started keeping snakes and reptiles.
