Great work! I've been wanting to try something like this for a while! Where did you find the aluminium and the aluminium connectors? I might have to give this ago myself!
I used to have a 175 flexarium. They're ok, but nothing on a good aluminium screen mesh! Good for out side as they're light and easy to move around! That's what mine is used for these days! :D
That's why i said gently! :D
Yeah, it worked ok for me! I tried soaking and other things to clean it, but it did nothing. then this, and it was a lot better! Definitely will need to be replaced eventually, but seems to be hanging on in there! :D
I had dodgy spray coming out of one of my nozzles, so I just took a pin and gently pressed it into the middle of the nozzle while it was spraying, removed it and it had almost sorted the spray. Did it again and it was fine. I've repeated this now a few times with no problems. Just do it gently...
I dont know where i've seen them (or when/why) but I'm sure I've seen electronic valves somewhere that will close when they are supplied with power. Then, all you need to do is set the valve to come on to block the flow to that route when you dont want the misting to take place on. I think...
Sounds fine then mate. If he's taking something then e has no issues with the food! I wouldn't worry too much. Just give him a good shower this weekend and keep food intake low. He'll get his appetite back soon!
I stole the tree root idea from dendroboards. They do some incredible stuff over there, but not on the sort of scale I fancy!
That's not a bad idea! I am literally considering everything at the moment! As i said, it's a long way off yet (got to get my new house sorted first....) but I've set a...
Cool! Thanks!
May sound like a stupid question, but could you use bark to cover it? Ie, if i was going to make a fake tree, do you think this would work?
Any joy?
I see what you've attempted with the fogger but i don't think it'll have the desired effect! Plus, i wouldn't run it 24/7 as it'll effect temps and humidity massively. I would really try a shower asap if you don't have the facilities to run a good misting session.
Well, new idea's were taken off dendroboard.com today. This guy has made an incredible background:
Go check out the thread as it is incredible! http://www.dendroboard.com/forum/parts-construction/57563-pics-my-new-constructed-vivarium.html
Anyway, this got me thinking that doing...
The enclosure looks good. I would try and mate the basking site a horizontal but it shouldn't really make much of a difference.
From the pictures he looks ok. The eyes look better than they did a few days ago, but maybe they look slightly 'sunken' which indicates a lack of water. He doesn't...
As said, good for plants!
You can buy tubes/compact bulbs of equivalent spect for a lot less so you would need to way up the costs to see if it is cost efficient if you want to use one!
