black striped eye turrets; strange behaviour

He seems fired up like he has seen a female. all my male panthers show striped eye turrets when they see a female. They also show striped eye turrets when they are really fired up. IDk what he could have see to get him fired up though. There isnt a mirror anywhere within his view that he may...

Sires to my growing ambilobe hatchlings...

I had a necropsy done by a herp specialized vet close to my area. He said he had never seen so many little tumors so close together. He was nearly 3 years old and had never had a health problem til his last month when he never seemed to have his thirst quenched. I took him into the vet and the...

Is it possible for a chameleon to have MBD when housed outside

Even if he is housed outside he can develop MBD rather easily if you are feeding him un-gutloaded feeders or feeders gut-loaded with fruits and veggies that are more harmful them being phosphorus heavy instead of high in calcium or some even contain extreme amounts of oxalates which prevent...

Sires to my growing ambilobe hatchlings...

First is Yellowbelly(Pics #1&2) a CH Male ambilobe from the chameleon company. He passed away from malignant tumors in his liver less than a month ago however he has left me with 60+ eggs and I have five 3 month old babies from him, the biggest of which that just happens to be a male in already...

    Acuminatus Eggs

I have not bred Acuminatus but generally with panther eggs they go bad within the first few weeks if they are not fertile. If they stay white and begin to grow a bit they are most likely fertile. Good Luck. Justin

    Updated panther pix

Just so you know it is a male. And it looks like he is going to be a very colorful one at that. What local is he? I'm guessing ambilobe or ambanja but leaning towards ambilobe. Congrats on the nice male. Justin

Had to move my cricket tub...LOL

I had the same problem with my meller's when I was raising mantids. I had about fifty deli cups with nearly adult mantis in the sitting on a table by the meller's new free range and they would literally leave their free range and shoot at the cups when they got close enough. MY meller's aren't...

    Which is better??

Lll>diy I have both type of cages. Well only 4 from DIY and 20 or so from LLL. I originally got my cages from LLL and then found the DIY site and decided to order a few from them because I had new chams coming in and likes the stainless steel aspect and the latches for the doors seemed easier...

Female It's a female panther for sure but i don't get how you can tell the local if it's a female? I have females from multiple locals and wouldn't be able to tell you their local if i didn't know. The only ones i would say have any different appearance would be the ambanja females on rare...

how much should a cham drink?

I use plastic cups with pin holes in the bottom for drippers and just wipe them out after every couple uses. That way they don't grow algae and plus the water isn't in the drippers long enough to grow algae. They drip out in about half and hour and my chams drink for anywhere from 2-15mins...

    What Roaches?

Discoids... I really like discoids as a backup roach species. The adults get larger than dubia and the newborn nymphs are smaller than dubia newborns. Also they overall seem much meatier and juicier than dubia.
