i was thinking of placing a type of small leaf ivy in the cage and have it grow onto the inner walls to hold more humidity and make a more natural appearing environment. i was wondering if anyone has tried this before and if thats actually a really bad idea as far as safety plants are concerned...
i heard from alot of people on this site that its actually bad to let them eat to that point. they can develop some swollen stomach disorder thing or something that i forgot the name of and it cuts the life span down alot :-\ i was doing that too until recently but i looked it up and it made...
alright so i dont remember off the top of my head how old veiled male cham Skrink is, but he's about 5 inches and i'd guess around 9 months. i'm cutting his crickets to 5 large (about 1 inch) a day. is that a good idea for his size? should i cut it down more when he's older? and for the...
so i remember someone else posting something about the tip-ish part of their veiled's casque being crooked and my cham's casque is starting to the same thing. is that a somewhat normal thing??
well i've got alot of big leaves in tank so i aim more for the leaves to retain moister and the mist in the air curls around them to make it more gentle when the mist hits him. he hisses though :( i'm not sure if its cuz he doesnt like misting period or because it's cold.
yeah i've gotten the water to the point where i can't even leave my hand under the faucet for too long cuz of the heat. when i spray it's a liiiiiittle warm even with that but the temp ends up dropping too. he's smart and goes under the heating lamp after the mistings but what did you end up...
so i can't afford i full on "mist king" mister or something of that calibur so i've been using a spray bottle periodically throughout the day :) it's been working just fine, the only problem is that no matter how hot i get the water when i put it into the bottle, by the time it gts forced into...
yeah i want to try that but i'm worried about the whole d3 thing. i'm giving him calcium with d3 every 3rd and 4th day so i'm kinda scared of overdoing it with natural sunlight. it says on the label that taking the cham outside for more than an hour can be dangerous if i'm using the supplement ...
i really hate filling that thing out, it takes alot of time. i've gotten feedback on how i filled it out before and everything seemed right as far as what a cage should have. here's the pics though

i've been looking at other pictures on here and most other people's chameleons (referring to veiled) seem to be pretty bright. my cham doesnt seem to have any health problems at all and he's pretty active as far as chameleons are concerned. he eats and drinks and backs just fine and he's capable...
the one who said 6-8 crix mentioned the age of my cham in the response :-\
i've gotten good advice from jann in the past so thanks and i'll cut it down but i think it's a bad idea to drop it down so low that quickly
alright, well i usually put in ten and then see how he does with them. i restock later if it's like 2 o clock and they're already gone but now i know i don't have to. i remember reading a few times on here about people who's chams would eat like 20 smalls a day (they were younger and i assumed...
yeah something like that happened to my cham too recently but it went down after about a week. it wasn't constant though, it would randomly puff up. is his/her eye always like that?
