Funny, I always thought daddy longlegses (daddies longlegs?) were cute - as arachnids go.
Thaxter ate a spider (not a longlegs) last summer before I could interfere, and suffered no ill effects. He seems to ignore the plentiful bees in our yard, for which I am thankful.
Ive seen my guys eat bees countless times. Anywhere from bumble bees to wasps! Never phases them either. The first time I saw it I was like OOOHHH NOOO. Dude chewed it up swallowed and went right on about his business. I think either the bee doesnt know what happened before its to late or the mouth and toungue cannot be penetrated by the stinger. There is a video on youtube of a cham eating bees. I will catch the bumble bees and throw them right in the cages. I steer clear of the ones that sting though. They can catch them themselves.
