So two things going here... I am concerned about a possible D3 overdose since you were using the cal with D3 for 14 days... Since this is fat soluble this takes time to get out of the system. This can affect the eyes, appetite, etc.Temps are between 87 at the top and 76 at the bottom. He stays in an area with no fan and little draft so overnight temps don’t drop below 75. We live on the gulf coast so our humidity stays pretty high. Normally around 50% and then goes up to 70% when misted. I had been misting 3-5 times a day and most heavily in the mornings. I hand mist with a small pump up sprayer at the finest setting until every leaf has water droplets and the ceiling has water droplets.
He was only keeping one eye closed and rubbing it. I have been trying to mist him more often when he looks like he is rubbing it in things.
The calcium with D3 was used at every feeding for about 13 days. Some of the time it seemed to get ashes off if he didn’t eat all his crickets at the start of the day.
He was eating 7-10 crickets for the first 3 weeks and a mealworm every day for about 10 days until I found more info on nutritional value of those. I fed him hornworms 2 times a week for the second two weeks Ive had him.
But also you have the vines with moss on them. So if he was rubbing on those he could have gotten some stuck in the eye. Real branches from non sap producing trees are best.
Then you have the lack of proper lighting the last month. This too can cause eye issues along with many other health issues.
He needs to get that eye cleared so he is opening it. A Vet would do a flush of the eye. I however have no experience with doing this at home I am going to tag in two others for you. @JacksJill @kinyonga A few things going on here... one eye is remaining closed and he is not eating unless the OP gets a feeder into his mouth. See my ideas above for potential causes.
I can go over your husbandry more in depth with you as you have questions. Make sure you read through this entire thread. Because on the phone it will dismiss other alerts once you come to the thread. You may miss feedback due to this function.
Temps just slightly too high at basking... Should reduce when you drop basking to 9 inches below for the new lighting.
