i have a baby blue bar chameleon, im new to chameleons so i dont know much about them at all.. hes just a baby, maybe the size of my index finger. i bought him about a month ago and he hasnt grew much.. hes also a male. i feed and mist him like ive been told. But these last couple of days he has seemed weird. he keeps his eyes closed all the time as if he was sleeping he eats all his food but doesnt move much well the other day i went to get him out of his cage and he fell on a branch on the the bottom of the cage and still had his eyes closed, he stayed there for a min but eventually got up and went to the the top of the cage and went to "sleep" again.. he doesnt seem like himself, he used to be "alive" and would love for you to get him out and stuff.. now he hisses at you and turns a dark color most of the time.. the other part of the time he is white and orange. i dont messure my temps cause i dont know much about that, i went to the pet place to buy all his stuff and i bought 3 differnet kinds of bulbs.. 1 was a basking light i was told to keep on for 12 hours, the other was a blue light i was told to keep on 24-7 and the other was another light that looked kinda like the basking light that i was told to keep on 24-7.. ive read your not supposed to let them sleep with lights on but i keep it cold in my room so i dont know what to do exactly.... ive jumped the gun with this lizard and have paid a lot of money for him so i dont want him to die. someone please help

One of the lights you need for sure is a uvb light. Also no light should be kept on all day and night. They need darkness at night. Invest in some temp/humidity gauges. It's worth it trust me. If its too cool in your room get a heater that's ceramic. Like a space heater. Also post pictures of your guy and his enclosure. Have you Bern dusting his did with supplements? You need a multi vitamin, calcium, and calcium with d3. There is a care sheet on this website to the left bottom side. Click on the one that corresponds to your cham type. Also on the top of the health forum there is a list of questions that will help members here help you by giving them more info. please feel it out and submit it.

It sounds like you got bad care information. NO lights or heat should be used at night unless your room gets down below 50 F at night. Constant light with no drop in temp at night is keeping him from sleeping and drying him out.

You MUST measure your cage temps. You MUST measure the cage humidity level. No way around that, so read the care pages given and figure it out. We won't be able to help much without the specifics of your setup. In order to figure out exactly what the problem is, we really really need you to answer the "how to ask for help" questions with as much detail as you can. When we ask what type of lights you use, tell us the BRANDS. This should be printed on the bulbs, not just the original box. When we ask what you dust the insects with, tell us the BRAND and ingredients, and how often you dust. When we ask what you feed your insects, tell us exactly what you use. Chams require pretty specific care, so we will need the specifics to help get you back on track.

There is nothing to be sorry about. We are here to help you, but you have give us as much info as possible in order for us to do so. A UVB light is critical for your little one to survive. Can you post a picture of your set up?. It can tell us a lot about the way he is being cared for. He looks very skinny from the picture. He has a good chance to survive if you let us help you get things in order.
