Well, its been an excrutiating 10.5 months waiting for these guys to hatch. Finally the first one is out and now in its temporary home. Incubation was between 66 and 72 degrees. For most of the time it was 66 to 70 until the last 2 months when I bumped it up to 68-72.

Here is the first one out. Its a female:cool: I forgot just how tiny these babies are when they hatch:eek:

Anyone waiting on PMs or emails please be patient. I have been shoveling snow for days. 3 feet of it or so. I will get to it tomorrow. I am beat:eek: It was a surprise to find this girl when I checked the incubator today and yet another thing I had to deal with but at least this brought a smile to my face :)

Big congrats!!!!!

Wow! Congrats on the new babe. Your pictures are outstanding! The eyes she has look so self confident. Like she already knows she rules......

I don't envy your snow.....Sit back, get something cold and foamy out of the fridge, sit down and enjoy watching your new baby! :p

Awesome!! Congrats, Jared.
I think that you should move up to Canada with all your Kinyongia -- they might like our climate better, and then I can snag some of your babies!

Drew

Thanks everyone!!!! I absolutely love this species!!! Such a great way to end the day and I just looked in the container and another one has piped the egg:D

I was so excited to post the photos I forgot to give a HUGE thanks to Kent for hand picking the mother for me early last year. Its a shame she is not with me any longer but I hope to be successful in keeping her blood going. Thanks again, Kent!!!!:D

Drew, I think you need to move to the states! I will not be moving anymore north than I already am. I would absolutely go insane if I had to deal with weather anymore cold or snowy than I already am. However it would be nice to pass on some of these Kinyongia to another fan of the genus;)

I hope to annoy everyone with monthly updates like I did with the last clutch:p Which reminds me they all hit 1 year old a few days back. Kinda funny I hatched out a clutch last year right at this time:D

Edit: And Brad........ROCKSTARS!!! :)

Awesome photos and another big congrats for hatching this species!! It's funny, I actually just came up from dinner and haven't even checked out FB after my question there. Freaking awesome it's that clutch! Yay! I helped produce a clutch of Kinyongia tavetana! Well, not really. But I'm still super happy it's that clutch!!:D Glad I got her!

Thanks again!!

Kent, you definitely helped hatch a clutch! You picked a damn nice female for me! Out of 4 gravid females I got last year only two laid in a normal fashion. The other 2 I got were in horrible shape although the source told me they were but I wanted to try. Those eggs were cut out and all molded over quickly.

2 more heads poking out and 2 more eggs sweating!

Pictures Please :)

Well............so where are the picture of the heads poking out? Some of us are hardcore enough to enjoy sweating eggs :p

Whooooaaaa! Way to goooooo Jared! I'm super late to this thread but nevertheless...amazing job papa Cain! Keep those babes popping out!
