my 2 year old chameleon looks as those either his penis has come out and harded to the point where it wont go back in, i dont know if thats even possible, or he tried pooping, got constipated and and couldnt finish and it hardened. the area looks soar as well.

what do i do?

i think by the description that he has prolapse i would take him to the vet ASAP and soak it in some sugar water so it might stop the swelling .

A picture would be good.

What color is it? Is is a pale beige color? If so, it would be best explained as glanular material that comes from the hemi penal pouch. If you take a tissue and slowly apply pressure, it will come off. A lot of males well express these at the same time as defecating, but since they come off the back of the cloaca will not come off totally at that time.

If it looks red/purple and swollen and crusty, (like a sea anenome coming out- they have two) your cham has a prolapsed hemipene and will require assistance by a vet. Of course this happens at night or on a weekend, so is a real inconvenience. There are a few things that can be done in the meantime.

Sounds like # 1

When you took on this animal you became responsible for his life and healthcare. He needs to see a Vet. There is nothing you can do. Many Vets will make payment arrangements. The alternative is to let him die a slow and painful death. The Vet can amputate and hopefully your cham can recover.

i took him to the vet, it ended up being a sperm plug, they pulled it out, hes on antibiotics now, and hes all better :]

That is most excellent news! Was the surrounding area irritated to the point of infection, or was the Vet being precautionary?

That is great news, however im a bit dissapointed.. you could have figured that one out with a SMIDGE of research. Huge difference between a plug and just about everything else in that area.

Im NOT dissapointed. Much better to be safe than sorry. Sure, this turned out not to be a big deal - but what it if was? I'd never discourage a vet visit if something seems amiss and one is not confident on how to deal with it.

I hope he is ok!

From my understanding "personal lubrication" such as KY jelly is good at keeping organs moist for when chams decide to eject them.
