Hello, just a few things - the water bowl can go, she probably will never drink from it, so it's just a (small) risk of drowning, or something to use as a toilet. You said you were adding more plants, so small branches too (just big enough to get her tiny feet round will be most comfortable.) What's the tub of soil for? She is far too young to need a laying bin.....anyway - welcome to the forum, and here's my favourite caresheet for all your Veiled Chameleon basics - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html Part 2 has info on gutloading and egg laying

glass

your going to hear get her out of that glass a lot. glass is a no no with chams. it can be used but can also make them sick. i would get her out of the glass asap.

okay yea the water dish is for catching the water from the driping system and the pot is for live plants i have the vine type plant in there forgot the name and its small right now but will be growing bigger lol. and yes i kno about the glass tank but as for right now she can live a month in there till i can buy a new one. and thanks everyone for the help. keep on helping i love help lol.

ok several things.
first, that is a fish tank, not a lizard cage. take her out of that NOW, and put her in a mesh cage that is taller than it is wide.
Chams are arboreal species, meaning they climb up, not sideways.
no water bowls- it will lead to bacteria growth. remove please.
any access to dirt, pleae cover with large river rocks so she does not eat it. this can cause an impaction.
you need ALOT more plants in there anyway, the more the better as they like to feel like they are hiding from you.
are you using supplements, calcium without d3, calcium with d3, multivitamin?
are you gutloading your feeder crickets?
is that fish tank light in the long light on top? if so, this is a big no no too. thse are built for fish, not lizards.
you need two bulbs, a reptiglo or reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb, and a regular house bulb, 50-60 watt for basking.
you need a temp gauge to determine your basking temps.
do you hand mist> if not, yo uneed to, a dripper alone will not suffice.
please read the blog david posted.

the picture where her eyes are closed, when was that taken, time of day?
if she had her eyes closed during the day, and i mean for more than just blinking, something could be wrong.
how old is she?
females can begin to lay eggs areound 6 months old, so you will need a proper laying bucket for her.
I can get into the laying bin later after you make the necessary changes.

i will make the changes i need to make but i will not take her out y would i do that then she would be killed by one of my cats or my dog i dont want her to die and i am just starting out. i do got the powder for the crickets and i am feeding them also the food they need. and she seems fine to me atm cause she is basking and is nice a green no dark colors so not much stress which means shes fine shes very small so it will do just fine for right now till i can get her the proper cage sorry i dont have one right now. please be nice and not rude or mean thanks.

she i think is about 2-3 months old and the pic was takin last night during the time she was sleeping around like 12 midnight so shes fine. and the eggs i will wait for that shes too young so dont need to worry thanks tho

I was being neither rude nor mean. you asked for help, and you received vital information.
I am not saying take her out and leave her out to be eaten. I am saying she needs a different cage asap.

What scehdule do you plan to supplement her with?
what are you gutloading the crickets with?
what lights are you currently using?
these are important questions.

Like I said, i am not being rude, I am giving you important info so that in a few months you dont come back on here and say your cham is sick and falling and cant eat and cant open her eyes, which is what we seeon this forum so many times.

i kno your not i was just saying that before someone was cuz some ppl do get rude.

uhm what plan not sure what u mean.
i will be feeding crickets with the romain lettece and some carrots not sure what else.
i got florescent lights.
so the lights arent that hot plus i got a heat pad under it i turn on to create humidity when it drops it uses the water in the dish on bottom from the dropper.

forsupplements- you should do the following
calcium without d3 every feeding.
calcium with d3 twice a month
multi-vitamin twice a month

romaine is got a good gutload
you need to use
carrots
potatoes
apples
mustard greens
oranges
dandilion leaves
(you can do search for gutload and find more ingredients, there are tons on here)

what kind of 'florescent lights"?
is one a uvb bulb, if not, you need that now. and i mean now. no uvb rays means your cham will eventually develop MBD- metabolic bone disease.
remove the heating pad- chams dont need it, and they regulat temp by gaping and mving to colder spots. a heating pad will allow your cham to get burned.

you must remove that dish of water- i know you are using it to catch the extra from the dripper, but use a plant for that. if your cham poops in that wtaer dish, then drinks from it, you are asking for a dead cham.

how hot is your basking area?

not sure about the bulbs.
and the temp is 70+ in the whole cage im thinking about 80 in the basking spot
ok if you are not using the bulbs i recomendded that is something you need to change now.
2 bulbs
reptiglo or reptisun (these are brands) 5.0 (this is for uvb)
and a regular house bulb, 50-60 watt for basking.

temps are good. but you should check those.
until you can get a uvb bulb, you cham needs daily outside time in natural sunlight.
this bulb is not something you can wait on, no uvb rays= mbd development.

Are you raising a chameleon or gecko?, what is all the unused space vitalized for, not trying to be rude or mean, but changes need to made immediately, that is a disaster in the making.

#1: I think you should take the sand out. Chams are arboreal(tree dwellers) and usually don't ever encounter substrates of any kind, you wouldn't want her to accidentally eat any while going for a cricket or something.

A florescent light means nothing to a cham, it must have UVB spectrum coming out of it, or alternately they must be getting a supplement of outside time with full sun for their UVB. A "plan" just means the way you are dusting your feeders, regular calcium every day(nothing added), and trading off on calcium with d3 and a mutivitamin every weekend.

Misting your chameleon's habitat is essential--these animals thrive in a humid environment. Humidity should be between 40 and 60 percent I believe. Best route to go is to get an automatic system, so you could water every hour or so. I mist every hour with my system since it is extremely dry here, the water is usually evaporated and gone in about 45 minutes.)

Don't get discouraged and think people are being rude, there is a proper way to have a chameleon, and there is no other way. Only exception for housing a cham in glass would be extreme cold weather climates, to keep heat and moisture in.

You did the right thing asking questions and looking out for your little girl. Good luck with your cham, let us know how she is doing. :)

okay i did have a reptisun bulb so that will do right? its from zoo med. and if not i can go get one like any time right now. and the temp at bottom of cage is 75 so the top where the light is should be 80+. and here is another pic of the new light. and the basking light is one of them energy saving bulbs will that do or should i get a normal one?

oh and i do mist the cage every few hours. and there is no sand only dirt which i will put rocks over that.

VERY good. the bulb you have is fine. as long as it is no older than say 6-7 months old. if it is, then it wont be putting out the proper uvb rays. they tend to go south after 6 months.
the bulb for baskign should be ok, but i would still check the basking temps.

are you hand misting her?

yea i hand mist and i use a water dripping bucket. i turn that only in the morning and like 2 more times during the day and i mist every few hours.

if you want, you can leave your drippper going all day. I do. this way your cham has access to water in case you arent misting when she wants it.

how old is she?

The setup is basic, but like you said, it is ok for a short time until you can get a 'proper' setup with mesh and drainage. If you make the changes you said then it will be much better for her. All the stuff mentioned is in the link I posted, good luck with her :)

okay yea i gotta move everything around then cuz i will have to take water dish out and move the plant into the corner and then i just have the dripper dripping into the plant bucket well down the leafs into the bucket? shes like 2-3 months old i think from others pics and stuff she would be about there.

thank you everyone. :)

ok i would suggest reading jannb's blog on egg laying bins.
Are you sure shes a female???
females can lay eggs (whether they were mated or not) as early as 6 months.
