Extremly worried!

I am sooo happy for her. And you. You did a great job by getting her in there as quickly as you did. And good catch; seeing her front leg as well. Poor little thing. Do you have a pic of the little girl? What is her name anyway? I'll say a prayer or 2 for both of you. Don't be surprised if she still passes a few more eggs. Sometimes they have so many they kinda get tucked up in by the ribs and don't come out till the others do and then they make their way down and out. 1 of my females laid for 4 days.

Try giving her some silkworms, hornworms, or butterworms. Butterworms are fattening but she could probably use some of that now. That way she wont' have to chase them down.

What kind of UVB bulb did you get? Is it a linear tube? And what kind of fixture did you get to go with it? Only asking because if you got the linear tube fixture that comes with a plastic like cover on it, that reduces the uvb rays almost completely too.

I got a Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 UVB Desert Lamp 15"/14W and put some foil around the back so it's reflecting better. had to buy a second hand Control Unit for it cos i'm totally out of money! and since i dont work i dont think i'll be getting another one any time soon. just hope nothink else happens or i dont know what i'm gonna do.

I hate to tell you this after all you have been through but you are going to cause eye issues with that UVB coiled lamp. They are PROVEN to cause eye issues so PLEASE take it off the cage and return it. The foil will intensify the dangerousness of it all. You need a flourescent tube.

get reptiSUN 5.0 LINEAR tube

you can order for cheap at:

Go with the Reptisun, has better light. can you show us some pictures of your setup?

Unfortunatly i cant, had the worst case of bad luck this week. first i ordered £600 worth of computer parts, dosnt work, fault somewere. same day i found my cham at the bottom of the cage and took those pics, after that i took her to the vet and when i got back i was putting together the computer, taking pics, camera's bust now. just waiting for somethink else to happen. lol

oh and the pictures i had taken, mysteriously vanished off the SD card. took 6 hours to recover them all.

So the one you got is a coiled light? Or a linear tubular light? Julirs right, if you have the coiled one, get it out of there. The poor little thing doesn't need something to happen with her eyes now. Not only that but you got the 10.0 which is really bright. Although i forgot what kind of cage you have her in. The liniear tube lights aren't that expensive and you can go to Walmart and just get a cheap fixture for now. Those are the ones you have to remove the plastic on so that the UVB can shine through.

How is your little girl doing? You never told us her name. Has she been eating and drinking for you?

i got a Tube one (the big long ones) which was £24.99 (which is about $58 usd) i've got it on the outside of the cage at the moment. shining through a mesh.

Is the light shining through anything other than the mesh?

Why is that light so much money!?!? You should try an buy from LLL, they will ship to the UK or wherever it is you are.

Everythinks expensive hear, (UK) it's just through a mesh. i wont leave it on too long, got some things up for sale on ebay so i can get the right one a lower intensity one.

vets bills were £98 ($189) lol.

i'll probably try to order from that site and see what happens.

Not too bad of a vet bill if ya ask me... I've gone in for something simple and it was $150.

Ya aren't interested in buying an iPhone are ya? lol I've got some guy in Malta who is lagging to pay.

I really hope you are saying that you bought the light " fixture" second hand. You do know that UVB bulbs are only good for about 6-8 months? After tht the UVB gets lower and lower and is useless. Please tell me you didn't spend that much money on a used UVB light!

Has she eaten? Or drank?

Debby

yea the fixture was second hand, not the UVB bulb. she has been eating a lot and drinking a lot. and she's on somethink i got fromt he vet that i have to give her 2 times a da with a syringe, called Collo Cal D, she hates it, but it has to be done.

Awesome!!!! When are we going to see a pic of this little girl who has caused such a stir? Does she have a follow-up visit with the vet? How knowledgeable was he/she with chams?

I've sent my camera to be repaired and currently trying to get my computer up and running, so as soon as i get the camera back i'll take some pics and upload them.

the vet was good, i found him online and he was the only one who worked with reptiles that i could find. got to take her back tuesday for another check.

It's been over a week and I am wondering how your sick cham is doing? Hopefully better. Please let us all know.
