Female Panther "Rescue"

Meet miss Lily! I didn't take as many pictures as I intended, as I was concerned with getting her comfortable and leaving her alone. I'll get my MistKing sorted out tomorrow, but for now Lily had a nice 10 minute hand watering session. She drank a ton of water and cleaned her eyes, and perked up enough afterward to give me a proper glare and hiss haha!

There's a bit of what appears to be shed stuck to the side of her mouth (I thought it was mouth rot for a second - phew!), but other than her eyes she seems to be in ok shape as far as I can tell! I'll set her up with a vet appointment as soon as there's an opening this week, or earlier if I just bring her to work with me haha!

Lily, grumbling at me when I opened her box and woke her up:

On her stick, being transported to her cage. You can see the abnormal skin on her lower lip. I was worried for a second, but it appears to be shed (softened and started coming off when moistened). I'll definitely point it out to my vet.

Enjoying her shower (about 2L in, lol):

Getting sassy with me when I placed another branch for her:

She is precious! Such a pretty girl! So proud of you!

Thank you! I love her silly grumpy face already! I gave her one more perch under the basking bulb, cause she really wanted to go there anyway, and the temp is safe (85F). She really didnt want to move from that spot, and made me work around her.

Pfft, right?! Oh man, that could have been a mad scramble...

She is, in fact, the cutest grumpy pants and there will be far too many pictures of her. :ROFLMAO: She's sleeping, but the urge to peek is real...
I am really happy for you and for her! It will be nice to see you around the forum more again. You have been missed!

Awe shucks! I've been lurking and reading like mad, just not posting too much! Just been biding my time and planning my bioactive set up, haha! I have grand plans, y'know. I did a bunch of foraging over the weekend, so I ought to update my build thread... I got sidetracked by Lily! It's too bad I couldn't afford to nab her AND the enclosure I wanted... oh well. The enclosure can wait another couple weeks, as much as I want to start building RIGHT NOW! :ROFLMAO:

I think it will be good. You will have the next few weeks for her to settle in and get used to the right care.... So you can focus on her and then get the new enclosure and get it completed without feeling like your rushed. She has a fabulous cage now so you don't have to feel rushed about anything. Although I know the ideas are pouring out of you and you want to start creating lol.

Thanks for all of the support, guys! :D Turns out I forgot to turn on my timers, and I only just got up (shocked the birds let me sleep in!). Lily must have found a reaaaalllly good sleeping spot, because I can't find her, haha! As soon as I finish feeding the birds I'll give her a good long mist and see if that wont flush her out of hiding.

I only picked up ~20 large crickets on my way out of Vancouver (I didnt want to transport a smorgasbord!), so I'll stop by a pet store today to get her some bsfl, supers, and a couple hornworms. After that, I'll probably order from rainbowmealworms and have them shipped to work for me to collect haha! Benefits of working at a veterinary clinic. :p

And speaking of, I'll call and see if there are any openings with either of our vets that work with exotics. Get that out of the way.

She's gorgeous and a fireball! Lol Goodluck Amanda! You know you always have us here if you need us for anything. Do you have any idea what locale she may be?

Whoops, must have skipped over this! She's allegedly an Ambilobe, though I guess there's no way of really telling for sure haha!

I don't think Lily's ever been exposed to live plants and thick foliage, judging by her very exposed cage at the pet store. She migrated into the pothos sometime after lights out, and has yet to emerge haha! She's loving it for sure! Gave me a proper hiss and display when I moved a leaf and discovered her. :ROFLMAO: whatever makes her comfy.

Adorable and sassy !! We just picked up a little girl with burns . She barks it really sounds like a bark . I just love the little girls they have much personality. It’s finny how each are there own .

Somehow I managed to lose my phone AND lock myself out of my computer. Skills, right here. Hopefully I can get a hold of the local transit company at some point and see if my phone was turned in!

Lily seems to be starting to settle in, and after spending most of yesterday morning hidden among the pothos she finally emerged to bask and explore a bit. She willingly stepped onto a stick I offered her, so she got a little time out in the sun (before it got too windy) and a short shower session to top her up. It was pretty funny, actually - she was really enjoying the sunshine until she realized I was looking at her. I was forced to stare off into the middle distance to avoid offending her, haha! She ended up finding an absolutely adorable sleeping perch down in the umbrella plant... I wish I had my phone! :cautious:

Lily had a nice big poop first thing this morning, and she had lovely white urates. :) I bagged the sample and stashed it in the fridge to bring to work with me later. So far today I've managed to convince her to take a superworm from my hand, though it took a couple tries to find a way that worked with both of us. I really don't like superworms, but if she likes taking them from my hand instead of tongs I guess I'll just have to get over it! She figured out the FullThrottle cup immediately, and eagerly marched over to take down two large crickets. She has another cricket and a superworm hanging out in her cup to snack on, and she's stalking them as I type (edit: she just nailed the superworm, which had her vitamin A on it :D). It seems that she'd like for me to put the feeder run lower and put more branches around it so she has more choices, based on her movements so far. I'll take her feedback into account and fix it later! I think I have a couple branches that'll do the trick. Lily's definitely much more active today, and more accepting of my presence. She might have flashed her colors a bit, but that worm seems to have won her over a bit! :D

I'm having some fluctuations with my temperature (Now it doesn't want to get over 76... o_O), so I'll swap back to the old bulb and get a dimming fixture as needed. Part of the cooler temps may be due to a recent misting, so I'll see if it goes up a bit as it dries, first.

Try to call ur phone see if it still on..if it went straight to a voicemail...that mean someone probably got the hold of ur phone and hijacking it(hopefully thats not the case)if thats the case call ur service providers right away..and have them to disconnect ur phone right away.
There is an app called lookout it can Remotely lock your device,so the person can not get into ur info.
Fecal test is always great especially u got the work source to do the work.
Superworm hand fed is showing her that u not a predator since the feeder will be built some thrust in between you and Lily...except ur finger will feel a little quick tap n sticky thats all.
The old bulb sounds like a plan..she will needs the warmth prior her feeding n afterwards...u are doing great with Lily and Im very happy for u grl:)

Yeah, it rings and rings, but no answer... tried to use the app to find the location, but it says "location unavailable". :( I sort of shot myself in the foot by turning off location services on my phone, I guess! It still has ~60% battery, wherever it is. I'm pretty sure it's in the lost and found somewhere at this point, haha! Oh well. I've locked the device, so it should be secure until I find or deactivate it. I was in the market for a new phone sometime soon anyway, I guess!

Lily was pretty silly the first couple times I brought the superworm up to her... she shot at my fingernail instead of the worm! She figured it out eventually, though, and definitely seemed more at ease once she had it in her mouth. I'm always happy to deal with food motivated animals - they're easy and trainable! It's all about finding the things they covet the most and then taking it out of their everyday lives so they only get it from your hand. Works very well 9/10 times! (y)

And thanks! I'm doing my best for this little girl. :) She seems pretty content right now, just hanging out near her feeder run. Looks like one cricket escaped immediate death - it's a little chewed up and missing a couple legs, but still alive! Guess she'll nab that later haha! The temperatures seem a lot better now, at 80-83. I guess the probe got misted too! Hmm... I'll need to pick up a temp gun.

It's a little concerning that her eyes are closed so frequently, but it seems to be due to irritation. They're open and clear while hunting, and whenever she's disturbed. The earliest available appointment looks to be on Saturday, but I'll see if I can get her in on a walk in basis sooner than that.
