I tried replying to the above post but can't. Don't know why.
Anyway, I received the veiled yesterday morning and took him to my vet right away. His tongue didn't look too great. I had to leave him at the vet clinic since the vet was already busy in surgery. Later on he called and recommended amputation in this case.
Last night I went to the SBCK meeting and got a donation for some used cages I tried giving away to a friend. But he insisted on paying something for them. Thanks Steve. So that money was put towards the vet cost. The total bill was $250.
I think the veiled will be fine. He was drinking a lot of water today and he's been very active. His color looks good. Once we have seen him eat well on his own we will post him for adoption. That could take a few weeks.
I will have several chameleons up for adoption in the next two to three weeks. Hopefully he will be one of them.
