I've had something like this on my veiled male last year. He was bitten in his tongue and it started infecting, then late rhe bit of his tongue too. The vet did surgery on him, but he didn't make it. Before surgery i needed to give him meds too and what helps if you wnat to just make him open her mouth is to take hold on her chin a bit, they usually open up, and then put a spatula in between. You can get those at a pharmacy, the vet usually uses them too.
Good luck with your girl, hope she makes it!
I brought my girl back into work with me this afternoon to get her checked out again...And Doc said everything looks Great! "Veryy Happy" Anyways..She called Dr.Funk in AZ..not sure if anyone here knows him?? But he knows alot about chams and herps in general...And gave my Doc some good advice/knowledge on what we should do with my cham...he said for her to take a look in her mouth to make sure the tissue in the mouth is all there and intact...Which with my wonderful luck..it was So0o no worries on doing surgery or food getting into the body cavity... we were going to do "A Simple Procedure" if it needed to be done..BUT is dosnt so were verry happy about that! Anyways...Everything so far is looking up for this little girl, which I'm super happy about. I got a new bag of fluids for her..were going to do 1.5cc every other day...along with the baytril .03cc once a day till everything is healed up. Our next battle is laying her little eggies!!! Ohh...and also she did not gain or lose any weight! I was Soooo Shocked!! She stayed right at 80Grams! Whhhoo Hooo!!
Good to hear that she will not need surgery! I hope all goes well with the eggs. Try to give her as much peace as possible until she lays them. I know this will be hard with having to treat her and all.
