Either or, whichever you want. I use a combination of both with my guys.

It depends on the cham. I like to feed my chams... so I use a deep deli cup and offer up the food items inside and watch the chams eat. This gives me a good idea of their food intake and eagerness to eat. Sometimes I will sprinkle a couple of crickets onto the vines in the range near the chams so they can hunt them down a bit. But I do this in a controled fashion as well so that not too many crickets are running around or left to roam the free range. You don't want crickets to climb all over and get into things they shouldn't and then get eaten.

I have one cham that doesn't care about food in the deli cup. I have to hand feed him by holding the crickets between my fingers. Chris really likes to eat this way and I know for sure how much he has eaten when i feed him this way.
