I bought my chameleon 10 days ago from lllrpetile, he's a baby veiled. 8 days ago, he was really active eating and moving around like a normal Cham... But like 2 to 3 days ago he's weird with eyes like falling asleep and kind of weak :( .
It really scare me because I been really careful with him giving his respective calcium and d3. The cage were I have him is a chameleon cantina without a UBV, just 100 watt heating bulb and a 75 watt night bulb that's it. He hasn't eate since yesterday all I'm doing is giving him water since he doesn't want to eat. Pls pls need help

He doesn't have any exposure to UVB light? That's part of your problem. He needs a proper UV emitting light now!

How often do you dust the insects with calcium? How often with vit. D3? Is there any light on at night? If so, get rid of it! He can't sleep with it on at night. He's exhausted. I think you need to read this forum's chameleon husbandry articles located under the Resources tab. It should tell you what to use, what not to do, the proper temps, lighting, dusting, etc.

You still really need to fill out the form, but some major light issues you have mentioned are that you have no UVB (which is essential), that you have a night bulb (chameleons need complete darkness to sleep. He might not be getting his rest at night which could lead to him falling asleep during the day), and a 100w basking bulb is usually too hot for any chameleon, especially a baby. Also, do you mean the chameleon cantina as in the cage or the fountain?

Please fill out the form. Without the request information, we really cannot help you much.

You need to act quickly or you're going to lose your chameleon.

It should not have any light at night. Unless your temperatures are dropping quite a bit below 65F it doesn't need heat at night.

The basking temperature should be in the low 80's F. Appropriate temperatures allow for proper digestion and thus indirectly aid in the nutrient absorption.

You need to provide a source of UVB so that the chameleon can produce the D3 it needs to be able to use the calcium in the system.

You need to dust at most feedings with a phosphorous-free calcium powder to make up for the poor ratio of calcium to phosphorous ratio found in most feeder insects. You need to dust twice a month with a vitamin powder that contains a beta carotene (prOformed) source of vitamin A. And twice a month with a phosphorous-free calcium / D3 powder.

How are you providing water? What insects are you feeding it and what size are they? How many does it eat in a week?

I hope it's not too late.

Can you give me the exact name of the powders!? I feed him with reptitive with d3, repashy superfoods chameleon calcium plus and repti calcium without d3. I since I had him I put different powder every day expect for one day that I didn't put any powder! What do you recommend me to do?? By the way is both fountain and cage plus I mist him every 3 hours with a splash!?

During the day the temperature inside the cage is 102 Fahrenheit and during the night is around 90 is that ok for a Cham? Since I bought this cham I put all the powders in different days for example I have reptitive with d3 on Monday feed him with that, on Tuesday I feed him with out d3 repti calcium and on Thursday I feed him with repashy food!! Right now i turn the both lights of! My temperature in my house is 80 to 86 Fahrenheit.

My cage Bulbs and lamp!

Sorry to tell you this, and I'm not trying to be mean but everything about this is wrong. He needs to be in a screen cage with a uvb bulb and a basking bulb. The temps under the basking bulb should not be more than 90, mine stays around 85. The ambient temp in the cage should be in the 70s during the day and he doesn't need heat or light at night the temp needs to drop while he's sleeping. He should be given gut loaded feeders like crickets dusted with calcium powder without d3 every feeding and vitamins and calcium with d3 twice a month.

The humidity in his cage should be like 70%. You should be misting his cage with a spray bottle several times a day or invest in an automatic mist system. You can also set up a dripper so he can drink

The best way to fix your chameleons problems would be to start following exactly what the care sheets say. Like others are posting....the whole setup is wrong including lights, cage, supplements etc. if you want your little guy to make it I would take everyone's advice and follow it as soon as possible.

You really need to fill out the https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/. Temperatures depend on the type of chameleon, sex and age but your temperatures are way to high for any species. For baby veileds the temperatures at basking should be 85 degrees and ambient should be 72-80 degrees. Besides temperature you need moderate to high humidity. Veileds need 40-70%. Babies generally need a smaller cage so they can get to their food insects. Care sheets can be found here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/ Please fill out the form for asking for help and post a picture. So far we know you are not providing UVB which is vital and you are cooking your chameleon. The high temperature bulb is why he is keeping his eyes closed. These all need to be fixed ASAP. We can't correct the rest without knowing specifics.

Duwen, I have had issues with my baby chameleon. Please listen to the advice from above and read ALL the information on the care sheets. There is a TON of good information there. Also, people on here are definitely lovers of chameleons and sometimes sound a bit harsh but they are well meaning. So, from what I am reading you NEED to decrease the heat in his/her cage. It's too hot. NO lights at night. I don't use one at all now and my house is about 72 degrees at night. We have air conditioning so it stays cool. Make sure you spray or mist your little guy. I spray or mist mine 3 times a day. I have a veiled chameleon so not sure if your's is different or not but please please read the care sheets. They really helped me a lot. Also, I ended up taking mine to a vet. Not a good one but between the two of us we were able to cure mine. He had major parasites and a lung infection and I had him less than two weeks. I, also, got him at a local pet store. Not a good idea! Anyway, if your fella is not sick, a few adjustments to your lighting and heat may help a lot. I hope all goes well.

FYI JoeVet helped me a lot! I did a lot wrong with my first one and she passed away partly due to me and partly due to wrong information from the pet store where I got her. My little guy George, veiled chameleon, is doing fantastic because I listened the the people's advice on this forum! These people are very knowlegable. Good luck. You can save your little guy if you do what they recommend. :)
