So the way it was described was when all the dead skin pulled off it was all one piece and he said it looked like a sports mouthgard. It looks a lot better and his jaw looks more even now too. We will be applying peroxide every day and feeding him repashy grub pie with a syringe. I did forget to ask if I shoud keep the gums dry or continue to hydrate? advise appreciated!

Yeah, idk how much the infection affects them and how just cleaning it out after a day or so will help but they do always seem to feel better after just getting some care. Hopefully he will keep turning around for you. It looks like he has some nice healthy tissue in his gums in the last two pics? Did it bleed when they were cleaning it? That's always a good sign.

So far so good, This is also a very tough thing to go through. He's very weak as he should be. With my first cham Leo what amazes me is his wow and cool factor and just amazement. With Rocky, its care and concern and just a protectiveness I have as well as my wife. Man I want him to survive and thrive. I hope he has a positive experience with me because he is a kind natured cham, Potentially because hes weak and sick but everything I do he hates whether its applying the hydrogen peroxide or syringe feeding him but he deserves the best right!

He will likely hate you for a bit while medicating/cleaning and feeding orally will be necessary. There will come a point where it won't be and will be fine. Then you let him settle in like you would with a chameleon you just got. Though he may need a bit longer. And then you slowly start trying to make friends. I mean my jackson hated me for the longest time because she never got her settle in time until like 6 months after I had her. It was vet visits from the get go, medication almost every day. We went through a few months where I had to hand feed her like you are doing now. Then she got 1 month to settle in and suddenly she was snapping things from my fingers left and right and she didn't show stress colors as soon as I entered the room. Now I am the only person she accepts. Everyone else she hides from.

His gums do look less red but I am not always sure that's a good thing. There are some definite good things that come with seeing red tissue like that, you know that it's healthy tissue. (irritated but healthy) does he have some puss build up or something, on what would be his... upper left corner of the mouth? I see a weird kind of growth or something that wasn't there in the older picture? But of course the picture is a bit confusing... just trying to be helpful if it is an issue <3 Otherwise he seems to have plenty of energy. How much are you feeding him per day?

Between 6 and 7 ml's He also drank a good amount today too. You can see from the pics he is quite swollen but he certainly has little more energy today. I think the Rapshey Grub Pie is the first time he's had anything nutritious before, it might shock his system! Unfortunately we didn't expect the energy so it was a messier feeding session then expected. I did clean off the excess after the pictures. Uh and the reason his eye looks sunken in was he was getting aggressively misted lol

I would definitely like to see it just a smidge more white in the urates, because they can get whiter than that and that shows better kidney function and hydration. But since this is likely the first time he's gotten this much care the feces and urates look great! He looks better too. On the second picture he looks like he is showing a lot more energy just from the look in his eyes and general body language. I am so glad he's doing well at the moment. Do you know his weight at all? You could likely end up reducing to a maintenance dose of the grub pie, especially looking at his body and how much energy he has now. Around 5-6 cc/ml is what I use as a weight gain measurement for my panther. If he starts losing weight then I bump it up from his maintenance dose. I am assuming you are feeding him everyday? I would reduce to probably around 4-5 cc/ml. Especially considering grub pie is so much more nutrient rich than Ryker's regular diet I give him. I usually do my own blend of bugs etc, and 4 cc/ml a day keeps his weight stable and his energy great. If he still needs to gain weight, which I think he's rounded out nicely and doing well, then maybe reduce it to the lower feeding mesurement you do? Are you doing multiple cc/ml at once?
