You are sweet.Poor sweet Nachito. I want to put a tiny little Ace wrap on her boo boo ankle, put it up on a tiny pillow and apply a little ice pack. If only!
No major changes, good or bad. Still eating and super spicy . She’s using her leg more but that could just be because of the pain meds. Swelling seems the same, maybe just a little smallerYou are sweet.
How is she doing btw? Is the Treatment helping?
That’s right…the x ray. I spent a lot of time looking at that and comparing to images of gout from google. Poor Nachito. Whatever it is, I know she’s in the best of hands with you and I pray you get an answer for the sweet darling. Here’s a update and reply to MissSkittles from another post
To quote what MissSkittles said.. “The swelling is still about the same. How long did the vet say to wait before taking her back to check for gout? All of those calcium deposits along her ribs resolved - yes? Just thinking as there’s also something called pseudogout which is calcium deposits in the joint instead of uric acid crystals.”

The vet said that we should return for a checkup if the swelling got worse or if it doesn’t resolve in a month. It’s still restively the same I believe, so I’m continuing with her pain meds. November 28th would mark one month since her vet visit.
Yes the calcium deposits that she had when I rescued her are now gone. I’m thinking we might contact the vet about how nothing as changed to see what we should do next.
Here’s the xray of her toes again from her vet visit on the 28th. The vet mention when he examined her that her wrist was squishy and not hard. Right leg is the hurt one.

Also as of now nothing has changed.
Thanks for the link. Here’s the vet I do go to. https://broomfieldvet.com/our-veterinarians/I would insist on bloodwork from a knowledgeable chameleon vet. Dr. Dayna is excellent with chameleons if you can get her in Centennial, CO. I noticed you live in CO.

Dayna is also a moderate here,Thanks for the link. Here’s the vet I do go to. https://broomfieldvet.com/our-veterinarians/
The plan is/was to get blood work if Nachitos leg wasn’t getting better, as it seems that it isn’t.
IT's gone down a TON, wow!Ok! So looking at her leg today I can definitely say the swelling has gone down, like wow! I don’t think it’s entirely gone but the difference is crazy today.
So I’m debating, should I still go to the vet Wednesday?

Oh sweet baby, I wish we could communicate with them that we are just trying to take care of them.Went to the vet. They agreed that the swelling went down but still wasn’t fully gone. So we are doing blood work and seeing if anything abnormal comes up.
Nachito was not a fan

Me too!!!! her poor tail is all dark, but the vet and another thread on this forum said it was normal. I feel so bad but I want her to feel better at the same time.Oh sweet baby, I wish we could communicate with them that we are just trying to take care of them.
I feel you. When I knew something was wrong with my panther and we did a blood draw for him I made my best friend come with me as emotional support and started crying when he went all dark when the vet started the blood draw. My boy was so stressed she asked to keep him during the day so he could calm down before getting the rest of what she needed. I went home and just stressed about him all day. I even called the front desk to check in on him.Me too!!!! her poor tail is all dark, but the vet and another thread on this forum said it was normal. Hope your dog is ok, let us know how things go!Spicy girl! I'm having the same issue with my dog right now... The found too much protein in his pee which could indicate any one of like 3 dozen issues, so testing testing testing we go... I don't think he's as spicy as she as at the vet, but I'm sharing my love to you for the things we do for our pets! <3 <3
I won't overtake this thread, but THANK YOU! I Hope so too. He's 12 and nearing the end of the average life span for his breed, but acts ENTIRELY healthy. I'm hoping whatever it is, I've caught it early. It's almost certainly some sort of kidney issue, but what kind, not sure. Also high blood pressure and/or diabetes could be causes too. Or a couple genetic issues for his particular breed (Wheaten terrier) or cancer, or or or... Sooo difficult to know. We'll see what happens. I'm praying it's a manageable outcome, and not a sad one. <3Hope your dog is ok, let us know how things go!
