Is my new Panther a male or female?

Agree with Erklerose, need a better side picture of the tail while it is strait out. I am leaning towards male because of the thickness of the tail base, but a better side pic would help alot.

He/she is hiding in the far back of the cage again and I don't want to continue to stress him out.
I'll ask the shop owner his age.
The store employee wasn't very knowledgeable.

Sorry,, at that size some are really hard to see if they have a hemipene bulge near the vent. My best guess is right now is 65% female, but keep trying to get a good pic.
Below is a picture of mine when he was about the same size as yours. I marked the area so you can see what I'm looking for. You can see a slight hump in the tail.

I just went in for an other photo op and I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT find him/her.
With that new cage and all of that new foliage! It took me over 10 minutes to locate him deep inside a plant in the "addition" area.
Scary.
I'll get more photos.
And I'll probably bring him back to the store on Monday and either trade or confirm that I leave with a boy.

i couldn't find my 4 month old jackson in his cage for 30 minutes once i was on the verge of tears bc i thought he had escaped some how

Agree can you post more pictures... It is a male... But see the way his mouth is? That is not normal if it is consistently that way. I would also like to check limbs and the abdomen injury.

I'm going to the vet tomorrow with one of my Redfoot tortoises.
Dr Kelleher of the tv show.
I'll bring him along too and have him checked out for MVB.
My husbandry etc. Is correct. But it's very likely that his pet shop life was less than optimal.
He just ate quite a few calcium with D3 dusted crickets.
This guy is a bit larger. But still very small, so I'm hoping we can get him turned around in time to grow big and strong.
He walks and eats very well.
He's under a T5 HO 5.0 right now soaking up the rays.

Y'all are correct.
MBD and pretty bad.
No bone breaks, but he has curved long bones and other bones are so soft that they don't even show up on an Xray.
He's on liquid calcium every day for a month.
His blood Calcium and phosphorus are currently within the normal range.
Dr. Pardini decided against a calcium injection because of him also getting a blood draw.
She says that he is still young enough to grow and live a good life
