"Natural" Forest Floor Terrarium "Testing" Build!

Any link to where we can buy a kit? I've downloaded the instructions on how to set this kit up, but even the contact information on the brochure doesnt work... I'd be interested in seeing how large these kits come

I'm responsible for that...sorry. I have been trying to figure out how to redirect that url to my other site. I am going to fix it as soon as I can. It will just go to a temporary page on my other site.

I would love this kit for my 18x18x18 - Do you know if they sell to the UK?

Can you please include the link to the site you purchased this from.

Few people have asked but I can not find on google.

Regards,

I am working on redirecting the domain url over to my other site. I hope to have it done tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime you can send me a PM here if you have any questions. I'll also try to start another thread to post the link and get this discussion out of JonRich's thread.

The animals I'll be housing in this thing live almost exclusively on the Pandanus rabaiensis plant.(this will be a hint as to what will be housed here ;-)) This is impossible to replicate in there small of an enclosure or find readily available.

The next best thing is the "indoor corn plant" Dracaena fragrans massangeana. But no way is that fitting in here either ( not alive anyway). I'm thinking about using a few pieces of the trunk of the plant and have then lean against the tank from bottom front to rear top. This will most likely be the basking spot.

I just don't know how it will fair with the humidity and how fast it will decompose. But if this is the bio-type they occur in and around , i want to recreate it.

So who are you getting the Williamsi from? :D:D:D

lol!!:D

Hopefully i can get this thing done this week. The rest of the supplies should be here b4 friday since they are coming from MA and i'm in NYC.

Then hopefully i can have them shipped out next week.

Pandanus are among my favorite plants and I have a little collection of them here, but I grow them as houseplants.

If those Lygodactylus like to climb around in bamboo I imagine that it's because they live in the stilt roots of the Pandanus. The stilt roots are really cool. I got this shot of the P. tectorius at our local botanical garden.

The plants have to grow pretty big before they start to develop the stilt roots.

This actually makes sense as to why they are only located in a portion of the Pandanus range. ( most likely in the "old growth" regions).

It's always a touchy situation when an animal in a specialist.:(

On a good note. My BlackJungle shipment came in. I will more than likely spend the whole night setting it up and will be done tomorrow. So look for updates later today into tomorrow.

I know, I know! ;D

lol. I was going to hold out for an unvailing!

But i'd like to give a HUGE thanks to Lauire for giving me the opportunity to acquire these gems!!

I'll be getting a young group of these guys! They are amazing and just listed as Critically Endangered!

My goal with this project will be to breed them and hopefully trade bloodlines further down the line to keep the captive group of them in the US avaliable and healthy.

Googled images. I will post actual pix of the stock once they get here.:D
Thanks again Laurie, you are a saint!
Alpha Male

Male and female pair. They are sexual dimorphic, with the males being a Electric Blue color (hence the common name of Electric/Terquoise Dwarf Day Gecko). The females and insubordinate males are a olive color.

Oh, I thought it was Laurie. ;/

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!

Have fun with them, they are neat looking.:)

Yea , she had a group for sale about 6 months ago, but i was still doing research on them, and did not feel comfortable rushing to get them. After searching to the ends of the earth for CB/CBB animals , i contacted her back on a whim and :D. She had the last of her CBB babies avaliable! :-D

Luck is not the word for this find (damn near rite under my nose too)
And Happy can't begin to discribe how i feel rite now.

If all of you want to feel bad, I offered that group for sale for $100 + shipping. Currently IF you can find one for sale it is about $100.

Don't ask Jon what he paid - he got the friends discount (he has the cutest daughters in the world)

Im really not pleased with the placement and choice of plants rite now. I will most likely pull some out and place them in a 10g tank for them to grow out more. I was forced to put a dwarf Hibiscus in here to help provide some cover.
