New Chameleon owner!!

I read " new chameleon owenii" f*ck you you tricked me D: lol

but recommendations. thrown the cantina as far away as possible. that is basically a slow cooking oven for your chameleon. put a hell of alot more plants in there. for Yemens I would say give them calcium with D3 every other week. plain calcium without D3 in every meal. spray morgings and evnings. no need for a humidifier due. if you have live plants.

If you still didnt order a cage, petco has the same reptibreeze enclosure cheaper on their website. They seem to be having a sale of reptile enclosures.

Does he have a dripper of some sort? Looks alittle skinny and dry

Definitely take all the advice in your thread, and hopefully you can restore your new Cham back to good health. When you get you new cage post another thread or look at enclosure ideas on here and make sure you get help if needed, lighting hydration and correct supplements should be number one priority.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Couldn't agree more that cantina should be taken off the market, it's an oven with no ventilation!

Yeah so for lighting there is a heat lamp and a uvb. Going today to get calcium and a multi. Also going to snag either a ficus or a fake plant that will work so I can start his showers. @Graves923 I agree that he looks skinny and dry. Hopefully after proper supplements and hydration he will start looking better. This morning I found him a deep brown on the bottom of the cantina. Not sure why. I'll be ordering his new cage and should hopefully have it soon.

He also didn't have any real plants, just a waterfall. So I've replaced that with a nice pothos that has vines all around his cage. Should help humidity levels and his moral :)

What watt basking bulb because that cantina is small and holds in a ton of heat? I also know the cantina has a top buble part that can come off I would recommend ditching the top bubble peice for now to help ventilation until your new cage arrives!

Pothos is a great choice! I have one in my setup as well. My recommendation is when you get your new cage I would also buy new lighting, uvb bulbs usually only last 6 months. Is it possible his uvb bulb now is older than 6 months? This could be an issue if so,And if his basking bulb now is over 75w I'd prob swap that as well as that cantina really does hold heat in due to it only having a small mesh backing. 40w should be solid basking bulb but you might have to play around with wattage to figure out how hot his basking area is and how hot his ambiant temp is. Once you get a screen cage and he has more room fresh air proper lighting and hydration I believe u could restore this little guys health and I hope you do! New cage ASAP lol that cantina is a death trap man!

It's a 50 watt. I've already taken off the bubble and the guy I got him from was replacing uvb every three months. So I should be good in that area. My apartment doesn't have heating and that's balancing his cage temp out nicely. I think I'll be ordering the petco cage now actually thank you!
