Nuggets poop

Hi guys, not sure how many people here own a beardie, but with reptiles you can't own Just one! Nugget has been having trouble pooping ever since this winter and I figured it was because of the drop in temps. However it's still continuing and I have to run his belly for awhile to get him to poop. He always seems soooooo uncomfortable and it's understandable-his urates are HUGE and very hard in texture. I feed him crickets dusted with calciumd3 (it was a pain in the ass finding at the place I go to as they specialize in chams lol) and the occasional hornworms and Cilantro. Any ideas how to make him more comfortable?

How often do you soak him? How often are you feeding? Do you use any substrate.

Use the Calcium 3x a week and add a multi vitamin once a week.

I would start offering a daily salad as well. Collards, kale, mustard, turnip, arugila. And some veggies like grated squash. You can also add a little olive oil on the feeders or the salad if he eats that well and that should help. Just a couple times a week.

Thanks for the reply, I feed him collard greens in a salad a few times a week. I will try the calcium vitamin thing you mentioned, along with the olive oil. I tried asking on breardie org but most people were not very helpful and just suggested I soak him more (I do every 2 weeks)

I would up it to once a week. Try the olive oil and see how that goes too. Add some variety in the salad. Sometimes that helps as well. Also remember as they get older they save it and poo less frequently. Once a week or even a bit longer. With my girl I was always shocked at how big hers were.

Okay, I'll check up on the safe foods and go shopping for him tomorrow. Also, is it okay to just have a shallow bath in his enclosure? I'll attach a pic of it

I wouldn't. They will poop in them. Mine 100% of the time would poop while in the bath. And since they get most of their water from their weekly soak, veggies and feeders they don't need standing water. It's a bacteria playground. I just use the sink once a week. Or in the summer I had a small baby pool I would put a few inches in with a nice basking rock and let her play for a while in the sun.
