Well, my daughter and I were at a Petco looking at tarantulas (we are thinking of getting her one) and I looked at their veiled chameleon. She was aprox. 2 inches nose to vent. She was hanging out ona vine trying to catch a cricket that was bigger than her head. There was a bowl of small meal worms but it had water in it. There was a large water bowl full of water and the substrate was so wet there were puddles of standing water. So off we went to find an employee. I was polite when I approached him and told him that I needed to talk to him about the cham. He listened and walked to the habitat and said that yes I was correct about the little ones feeders being way to big and about the water issues and went to tell the person who worked in the reptile area. He said that all of the issues would be taken care of as soon as she finished unloading the truck. Anyhow, I have not been able to stop thinking about her so I decided if she is still there tomorrow I will bring her home. I have a small habitat I can put her in until she is big enough to go into the cage Rebel is now in. I am getting him a Dragon Strand large screen cage this month. I am a little scared of having a girl because of the laying thing. I would love links to care sheets geared for females. I know that by lowering temps and limiting food you can limit egg production. I just need details. BTW, we have decided to name her Penelope...
