ive heard good things about the doc in beverly hills i could probly make it out there what is the best way to transport him?

Put him in a sterilite container and rush! Panacur is easily enough dosed at home w/o a vet's RX, but I'd defer to a vet until you've dealt with it enough times to be sure.

Chamelisa, you are awesome to have all those references handy! Around here, there's only one herp vet who knows more about reptiles than the average person bringing the animal in. You're lucky to be in a big city, B.

And for what it's worth, are you cleaning the feces daily? Or by chance using a waterfall for drinking water? These parasites get to the level in captivity they do by our husbandry. Wild animals are (pretty much always) infected with them, but aren't in contact at the level they are in our cages.

Was it a fresh poop or had it been in the cage for a few days? Are you sure they were parasites from the chameleon and not maggots from a fruit fly or phorid fly that laid its eggs on the feces? Its still worth a check by a vet...but its not a big panic IMHO.

It was a fresh poop not there this morning. If they were maggots they were not the kind I've ever seen. I have pics if you want to see. I usually clean the poops as soon as i see them but I was curious, would it be possible that he got in infected from dirty/infected feeders I've always been a little scketchy of the local pet store and no I dont use a waterfall... but i was gone for a few days and the cage got really dirty mabey they got there that way

I suspect that pics would be extremely educational for many of us. If you have them, could you please post them? Then the experts can hopefully 'pine in.... I know I'd like to learn more about parasites.

this is what i found

Yikes! I would have screamed. Thank you for posting the pictures. Is it likely that the time between pooping and finding the poop allowed the roundworms to grow?
