Oh no! Don’t let this deter you! Silkies are awesome and your cham will love them! Only one time have I had problems with my silkies all getting sick (flacherie) and dying. They are my favorite feeder and insect.Wow, this is awful! I guess I won’t get any silkworms! I was thinking about it.
You shouldn’t. Just keep them and your hands clean.Would I have to worry about this if I am just getting a few at a time from a supplier?
Silkworms are a fantastic food source for chameleons, they provide hydration aswell. They just require a very clean environment because years of domestication has left them with a weak immune system. Just daily food replacement and sterilising the containers they are kept in keeps the diseases that affect them at bay (grasserie, flacherie & muscardine)Wow, this is awful! I guess I won’t get any silkworms! I was thinking about it.
