SOOOO Excited! Getting first Panther this weekend!

He's looking fantastic! Is that orange and red developing on his side? He is a gorgeous little guy. :)

It looks like it to me. His sire has a little red and orange at rest, but is completely red and yellow when fired up. I cant wait to see how his colors develop.

Sorry dude but I just have to say the pictures when he is on your hairy arms are in my option kinda uncool. I little chameleon climbing though human arm hair just doesn't seem to be pictures that I enjoy seeing.

Matty your comment was beyond uncool. I can't wait to post a pic of my new cham on my hairy back. Don't look if you don't like it. I'm sorry that's just my "option."

LP congrats on the wonderful new additional. Already in a week or so, you can see the progression of colors and growth. Congrats also on being so lucky to have such an incredible vet.

I see the start of a new thread... :) Lpsouth1978- he is looking awesome no matter where he is sitting!

Mel, he is looking good. Really starting to show his blues, though his barring is still very pronounced! I know you will love having him!

His sire is completely blue when all fired up. Pretty sure there are a couple of members that have step brothers to him. Just like your post heading: "I"M SOOOO Excited". Thanks.

We can't have dubias legally here in FL, but we can have discoids. My local reptile shop carries them, and I'm planning on getting a colony kicking. I just hope mine do bunny love as quick as your dubias did. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bigboss - Didn't your mom ever tell you "if you can't something nice then don't say anything at all"?

Actually no, she never did, but since your asking me personal questions, the best advice my mum ever gave me when I was a kid was "Matty, be you, don't try be somebody you not".

Haha, arm hair is just a fact of life. It may not make for an awesome picture, but most of us weren't looking at the arm hair, in case you missed it, there is an adorable little chameleon in that picture.

I didn't miss your very cool lil chameleon, like I said before. I was just very distracted by your arm hair and I'm glad you of all people agree with me, that it doesn't make for an awesome picture.

melble68, nice try with the "that's just my opinion" comment, but I didn't even flinch, because I respect you for not holding back and speaking what is exactly is on your mind.

However, what I will definitely not respect is if you don't do what you say your going to do and post a pic of your new cham on your hairy back. It seems like your trying to prove a point, that pictures of chameleons climbing over bodily hair is cool or something like that. So don't hold back and don't let me or others down buddy, get that pic up ASAP.

I see the start of a new thread... :) Lpsouth1978- he is looking awesome no matter where he is sitting!

If melble68 keeps to his word he could be the one to create that new thread. It could be called "My Chameleon on My Bodily Hair Pictures" and you all have my word that I will personally place my best picture of my chameleon on my chosen bodily hair on this thread.

By the way Lpsouth1978 I don't think you have said what your lil chams name is, I am really curious to find out. It has got to be tough to find a suitable name for such a cool lil chameleon. :p

You are correct, it is very difficult coming up with a name for him. I have had him for almost 2 weeks and a name has yet to chime right for him.

No one agreed w/ you. No one but you cared or even noticed his arm let alone the hair on his arm. Don't worry I don't respect you, you are not my buddy, you are still an idiot, and no I don't have hair on my back. Sorry to let you down.

While I agree that the original comment was not kind, BigBoss is not the only person I have had mention the arm hair. My sister also mentioned it when I showed her the pictures.

I think it is time to forget about the Bigboss's comment and just keep talking about cute little Chams.:)

I finally have a name for my little guy!!!!

After 2 weeks of thinking and wracking my brain It finally hit me this afternoon. I knew from the start that I wanted an "artsy" name for my little guy due to the colorful nature of panther chameleons. I had considered Picasso, Michealangelo, Leonardo DiVinci, and several other but none of them fit. Out of nowhere this afternoon a light bulb turned on and I had a "DUHHH" moment!

From this time forth, he will be forever known as:
Remy
(Short for Rembrandt)

Remy is PERFECT! I have yet to find the perfect name for my panther. I think one day, it'll just click, but for now he's little guy, lol.

I had to Wiki Rembrandt, I am not that into art, but hey I learned something new and yeah I think you definitely nailed it. Suits your cham like a charm.

From this day forth thy lil cool lil panther chameleon shall be named Remy

May the strength of the wind and the light of the sun,
The softness of the rain and the mystery of the moon
Reach you and fill you.
May beauty delight you and happiness uplift you,
May wonder fulfill you and love surround you.
May your step be steady and your arm be strong,
May your heart be peaceful and your word be true.
May you seek to learn, may you learn to live,
May you live to love, and may you love - always

All you need to do is find Remy a tiny tiny little beret, put it on and take a photo of that. You would probably win the next photo contest since his already got so many fans. :D

I think you let yourself down, buddy.

Maybe you both need to stop the useless bickering. Must you really continue to bring up the subject? Lets drop it and continue the fun talk of chameleons. If you can't do this, then I would request that you take it to another thread and let this one continue to be about REMY!!

...let this one continue to be about REMY! Well said. Remy is adorable, I just got my little one a week ago. It is so hard to believe these little tiny things crawl around the trees in Madagascar all by themselves! It seems like a stiff breeze will knock them to the ground. I am so afraid I am going to drop him or something until he is a little more substantial. My granddaughter is coming up this weekend and she can hardly wait to meet Clouseau. I would like to see Remy in a beret, that would be awesome.
