SOOOO Excited! Getting first Panther this weekend!

.

May the strength of the wind and the light of the sun,
The softness of the rain and the mystery of the moon
Reach you and fill you.
May beauty delight you and happiness uplift you,
May wonder fulfill you and love surround you.
May your step be steady and your arm be strong,
May your heart be peaceful and your word be true.
May you seek to learn, may you learn to live,
May you live to love, and may you love - always

That is very cool- I need to save that in case I am ever called to do a toast at a wedding! There is a hilarious picture somewhere in the gallery section of a panther with an acorn cap as a beret- I think Remy is a great name for a very cute little guy! :)

I respected your request yesterday to continue your thread to be all about your wonderful new addition to your family. Remy is the man, and I look forward to seeing more pics of his progress. Seeing them grow and thrive is part of the fun of chameleon husbandry.

Quick update:

Remy is now 3.5 months old and is doing very well. He eats about 6-8 1/4" crickets a day. He is growing and coloring up very nicely. I am starting to se more reds and yellows appear, even though they are faint. I really love this little guy, though he is still not too sure about me.

Here are some new pics taken this morning.

Remy is looking great. Bring on the colors and his next shed. My little one REALLY doesn't like the tongs that I picked up this week. He flared up like he was a massive big boy tough guy.

It is AMAZING the difference makes with these little guys. It has been a week since the last pics of Remy were posted. He was showing some nice colors, though they were still pretty muted. Here are some pictures I just took. It is amazing how Vibrant the colors are after just 1 week. Of course, it seems like he is in a constant shed. I find new pieces of shed skin in his cage almost daily.

Sorry for the blurry pics, my Iphone didn't focus properly.

Fantastic! May your chameleons groww large and strong!

Awesome.Wish I could get a panther but hard to find nice ones here. One pet store near me might be getting them for under $200 so keeping my hopes up.

Wow. He sure is getting longer. I can't wait for a growth spirt like that around here. We're just getting fatter right now. I'm waiting for another shed.

Remy got his first taste of dubia this morning and the jury is still out. As soon as he saw them he quickly ate one, but then he just walked away and left the rest. Hopefully he will eat more during the day today. I put 8 dubia in the feeding cup, so I can easily tell how many he ate at the end of the day.

We're working out way thru an assortment of feeders. So far here's our list of favs.
1. phoenix worms (goes bonkers)
2. discoids (stands up super tall and blasts um)
3. crickets (eh so so, but i still rotate them into his cup) a few jump out and he'll eventually get um
4. meal worms (zero attention)

Keep trying an assortment. You'll find out eventually what's his fancy.

Remy is 4 months old as of yesterday. It is amazing how quick they grow! I don't know if it has anything to do with the roaches, but it seems like he has had a major growing spurt since I started feeding him the roaches.

Here is a picture of him a month ago, when I got him, and one of him taken last night.

I don't know if I'm exactly correct, but I seem to remember some % numbers about crickets vs. roaches. Crickets are in the 18% protein area, and roaches are in the 33% area. Your thought process is probably on the right track about the roaches. Remy is looking great.
