SOOOO Excited! Getting first Panther this weekend!

It has been about a month since the last update:

Remy is doing great! He just finished another shed yesterday and looks fantastic. He is still growing, though slower now. He is still on the small side, but is slowly gaining weight. He weighed in at 81g today and he is 10.5 months old. I am not real concerned about him being a little small. He is healthy and beautiful, and that is what's important.

Here are a few pics that I took this afternoon.

He looks great as usual. We recently had a move first week of June. Took Luke a couple weeks to get adjusted. He ate very few bugs the first week, and now he's back to being a pig. Luke will be a year old here at the end of this month.

I decided to take Remy and Nyah to see ferretinmyshoes for their routine exams. I decided to have her take X-rays of both of them so I could check the bone densities and be sure that my feeding and supplementing are on point. It was really cool to see the X-rays and have her say how nice everything looked. You could see every bone, even the tiny little ones in their toes. Both Remy and Nyah passed their exams with flying colors.

This was the first time ferretinmyshoes has seen Remy since I first got him from her 8 months ago (other than in pictures on here). It was a lot of fun to see her reaction to him. It has got to be fun to see the little ones you raised, as they grow. She especially liked the teal lateral line and spikes along his back. This is what he looked like then:

This is what he looks like now:

Remy is 11.5 months old now and doing great. I let him out onto his free range tree today, had to stay inside because it was raining and chilly out. He decided that the tree was not good enough for him this time. He usually just sits in the tree until I return him to his cage. He quickly found his way up the curtains and climbed around atop the curtain rod.

This is where I found him.

Remy's 1st hatch day was yesterday, now today he is being a real pill. He is usually VERY laid back and chill, but today he will puff up if I simply come close to his cage. He has NEVER done this before. The only thing that has changed in his enclosure is that I installed a new heat bulb this morning because his other burnt out. He even head slapped a roach when it got too close to him and they are his favorite food. What is going on with my guy?:(

I know things don't really change at this stage, but I still enjoy posting pics here if for no other reason than it is a good way for me to look back and see his progress and growth. 3 weeks ago, when he turned 1, he weighed in at 92g and was refusing to eat his roaches. I ordered him some nice crickets and he soon devoured them. Today when I weighed him, he was 110g. He has gained 18g in only 3 weeks. I figure he still has about 6 months of filling in to do, so I am hopeful he will reach the 150g+ point by the time he is 18 months.

Here are a couple pics taken this evening.

This is as "fired up" as I have ever seen him. He doesn't even react to his reflection in the mirror, just acts like everything is normal. He is just the most laid back panther ever.

I too love seeing the progression. There's also some personal attachments to a few fellow members chams due to the time frame we all received our's together. He's looking very handsome.

I love watching him grow! He's just stunning and sounds like he has a great personality like his dad! :) His current weight is right on track with where Oscar was at that age. By a year and a half he was around 200g. Remy is looking good!

It must be fun watching your babies grow up. I can only hope that he reaches the 200g mark.

Another update. Remy is awesome. There really is not much to report, although i do have some pics to show off. He saw one of my females yesterday and fired up more than I have seen him do before. I REALLY liked what I saw. Here you go.

Very few updates these days. Remy is doing well, just living the dream, all the food he needs, tanning all day, lounging under the warm rays, and hanging with his girls from time to time. :D

I expect him to finally be a father soon. The oldest of his clutches will be 7 months old on Mon. My girls are in "cool down" mode right now. I will be giving them at least another 6 months off before thinking about breeding them again. In the mean time, most, if not all of my current clutches should hatch.

Anyway, a couple of pics I took yesterday. They are not that great, but I don't have a good camera at the moment. My iphone will have to do for now.
