ok ive clamed down a bit since that phone call. i have been in touch with a reptile vet and she has agreed to look at the photos i have shown to you guys. I can believe im having to try and prove my innocents. I personally thought there was no way you could kill a chameleon in 30 hours unless you took a hammer to it. I really dont know what to think any more. does stress make thier eyes swell up. Can it really kill them in 30 hours. Would it make him Wheeze and take big massive breaths for no apparent reason. im lost now and will just have to wait and see what the vet thinks
I also wanted to add this

This is where i bought the cham from, and her shop doesnt look quite at nice and shiny as it shows in the picture.
im only a novice but commen sence says to me that stress cant make eyes swell up so bad. Do some research 1st then take the poor little guy 2 the shop and show her to her face. Threaten to get rspca involved. Good luck
Unfortunately its too late to take him to the shop he died on monday night. Sound weird but i have kept him in case i need to send him off to the vet. I have noticed tho that all the swelling around his eyes are gone but the skin is now saggy where the bulges were. Could this be an indication that they were definitely there for longer than the 2 days i had him.
The lady in the shop was really using any excuse she could to blame me, I told her what viv type i had and she said she didnt like glass ones and recommended me to get a wood one ( i would never do that because from what i have read i may as well put a hammer to my cham) but on the phone she said it was to small didnt like my set up and thats why he was stressed.
she then told me it was because i didnt use bottled water to mist him.
But then it was the hour and a half car journey hom, Then his eyes were swollen because he may have rubbed them on the side of the tub that she provided for him.
There was a few more thing in there but i was in tear by the end of the telephone call.
Does any one have any web pages that might help me out here i need to find stuff thats going to prove that stress doesn't cause eyes to swell and id like pages on eye infections.
She keeps them in wooded vivariums, I came up with the possibility that stale air to much humidity all the time and not enough heat gradient may have cause a respitory infection( i now realize the hissing was him breathing to try and get breath). I have read up in a book that eye problems can come as secondary infections from poorly treated infections.
Do you guys think this is possible?
P.S sorry for the book lol.

they are all wood with glass fronts. she has seeled the wood with some wax/varnish stuff.
I don't have much experience with enclousure like these. But since no one is on, I will repeat some of what I have heard. Varnish, wood sealant, etc. emits odors that can cause respiratory problems to chameleons if continually breathed in over time. Don't quote me on that.
i think im just going to get rid on all subtrate vines and foliage and start over. Whats £30 for more stuff to make sure your cham will be ok.
Still not sure if im going to get another on just now tho.
Does any one know of any uk breeders or any where that will ship to the uk. im still going to window shop for jsut now
