i have no clue about MBD i really have no clue call elliot from chameleonsnorthwest and he would def help you ALOT ummm or his wife and they sell this stuff called reptaid idk if that would help but just ask their website is chameleonsnorthwest.com...................and mine didnt lay eggs untill a couple weeks ago and she was gravid back at the end of july

You mentioned MBD. How do her bones feel? Particularly her elbow and knee joints, as well as her jaw?

I would get a laying bin in with her asap if she has been living with that male as it is very possible she is carrying eggs.

Is she eating at all, if so how much?

Do you have any liquid calcium on hand?

Your best bet is to take her to a qualified vet. When I say qualified I mean, someone who really knows what their doing when it comes to herps, even better if they have had experience with chameleons.
We can all make assumptions and guesses as to what the problem is but it can only do so much. The conditions she was kept in are most surely the reason for her poor health and there are many possiblilities as to what exactly is wrong with her. I say you get her into the right setup with properly gutloaded food and take her to the vet as soon as you can. Even if its a minor problem its better to be safe then sorry.

her bones feel good as well as her jaw. I do have liquid cal, i've already given her some, I'm going to get her a laying bin tomorrow morning when I wake up. She's about a year old so it wouldnt suprise me if she needs to lay eggs. We'll see what happens when I put the bin in her cage.

yeah I actually work at a vet office, the dr. works with herps but she's not an "EXPERT" with them..only knows the basics..But I'm not 100% sure on that I've only been there amonth so...But from what the girls have told not to many chams have gone in and out of there because many people dont know there propper care. But I'm going to wait and see if the calcium helps her and see if she lays any eggs in the next week or so..and if she get worse I'll bring her in for sure. But She's still eating & drinking well. I'm going to really monitor her closely though.

She stands a far better chance of recovering from whatever is ailing her by being taken care of by someone who is devoted to her care.
Perhaps the best case scenario would be if her weakness is a result of simply not having been given enough calories and being dehydrated.
That she has an appetite and is also drinking can't be bad signs.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah she's already shown a HUGE improvement I used a syringe dripper for her she drank ALOT of water! Something that she prob did not get enough of, we also have a humidifyer on her right now, she loves it! We also gave her some liquid Calcium. Tomorrow morning I'm going to get her a laying bin. She's still a bit on the weak side as far as holding on to branches and wondering around the cage..but has not actually fallen to the floor like she was at my friends. We got her an unlimited supply of crix and some waxies so shes set for now! I'm hoping for a sunny day tomorrow so I can give her some natural sunlight!! Okay now for the "Panther" Experts...does anyone know what she is?? I know my pics quality are kind of suckie...Cell Phone! Ahhh..But she has purple on her! She's verrry Pretty! Let me know what you guys think!

Weight

Okay, So I just weighed her. She's 60.9 Grams and shes about 12 months old & 10 inches long from nose to the tip of her tail...Is that about the Average weight & size for a female at this age?

Sorry, I thought I posted earlier but I think it got wiped.

Her pics look pretty good to me actually. The top of her head looks like it has a slight deformity in one picture? I'm not sure.

You said she's really weak, so that's definitely not good, but it sounds like you're doing everything you can. Her arms and legs look good to me. If she has MDB, it doesn't look like it's very severe. Only X-Rays could really tell you for sure.

One good test would be to put her on flat ground - see if he walks with her belly off the ground, or if she slumps down. Of course, if her weakness is due to bad muscle tone, dehydration and poor diet, this might not be a good test.

I do have to say though that the pics don't look bad at all.

Since the lights are old, it probably wouldn't hurt her to use a phos.-free calcium powder for the next two or three dustings lightly just to help her use the calcium you are giving her.

You said she was hanging upside down from branches...falling on the ground..but isn't doing that now....let's hope she doesn't go back to doing that!

You said they supplemented every time they fed her crickets...what was the supplement? What brand of supplements are you using for her and how often for each? Is the UVB a compact, spiral, long linear fluorescent..or what??

By only feeding her once a week, she wouldn't be getting enough calcium and other nutrients that she needed but she also wouldn't likely be carrying a big clutch of eggs so they would be more difficult to feel when you palpate her IMHO.

IMHO, the symptoms could still be indicative of MBD and/or eggbinding...but you need to have some tests and x-rays to determine what it is for sure.

Thanks everyone for your comments..Okay I just got home from work and I also checked on her at my lunch time..she has not fallen to the floor of the cage since I've had her "Yesterday" And She drank ALOT of water..has not eaten any crix yet but they fed them yesterday so she's prob full..Anyways I also DID feel some eggs in here..super small but they are there...So i just put a laying bin in there for her so hopefully she has the strength to lay them without any complications. Her grip is still okay but can def. gain more back. Any idea on what type of panther she is?? And is she a normal size female panther?

OKay so I looked at some threads on here for an "Adult" Female weight for a panther it's range is about 60grams to about 75grams? Is that accurate..If it is then I'm okay with her weight which is 70.9 Grams! Now all I need to know is what type of Panther she is?! They bought her as a Blue Bar from Amazing Blue Reptiles, but a blue bar what? Ambilobe? Sambava? And..I might add she's not blue..she's Purple!

Okay so I contacted Amaing Blue Reptiles and found out my little girt here is a Blue Bar Ambilobe What a Cutie Pie! And...tomorrow I'm going to bring in a fecal sample to test it for Parasites..which should be Negative but we'll find out tomorrow.
