So I just adopted this 5 month old male veiled chameleon yesterday but
he's super dark in coloration compared to the other's that i've seen?
He's this way in and out of his cage. Right now his heat is a bit too hot (in the 90's) (he came w/ the bulbs and stuff and i dont have extra lower wattage) but I plan on buying a new bulb when I'm out later today!!.
He is also going to the vet later today for his checkup. I just want to know if this coloration is normal? Is it just his colors?

Most likely stress colors. He is in a new environment and likely is seeing you as a threat since he really hasn't had any time to settle in. He will need time to get used to his new surroundings and then should start displaying more relaxed colors.

@hibutan Some respond differently to stress. Some will stay dark and stressy colored for days. He's older than a baby, so won't be those bright bright greens. Veiled males tend to go through a mucky color when they are juveniles and young adults. I think he looks pretty good. Get the husbandry right and he will blossom.
