I have the quad fixture as well, also mostly for the plants (which are doing great under it by the way). When the lights are coming on first thing in the morning and starting to shut down in the evening I do think it looks a bit too dim with only two bulbs on.

That's actually a great idea, thanks! I've seen the wall murals but didn't think to use one of those. You're not the first person I've heard say that the realistic-looking backgrounds has caused some confusions with their chams. I wonder how common that is and whether it outweighs the benefit...

I've ordered from Coastal Silkworms before and always had good luck. Florida Fresh Silkworms was running a special for black friday so I gave them a try and was happy with them as well. I'd order from both again for sure.

My chameleon won't eat the larvae but loves the flies so I've had luck keeping them in a large tall deli cup in coco fiber substrate until they turn into flies. I give them small pieces of papaya or banana and haven't had any problems with the fruit getting gooey/sloppy. I do check the container...

It looks like its an expiration date and not a "best by" date - there's a "EXP09 2014" printed on the top seal of the bag. It was sealed until now when I just opened it. It looks just like my non-expired Bug Burger but does smell just ever so slightly different...not worse, just a tiny bit...
