New Cage! I Need Serious Help

If your not 100% sure listen to the chameleon podcast... awesome to listen too.... Live plants help keep humidity up. If you look at my profile pic. Basking is in the middle on the left of the tank. Basically as long as you avhieve the appropriate humidity at temperature levels with...

    Medium repti breeze for outside

Yes, owl, hawk, eagle might not do so well with a cham. I see no issue with that size of a enclosure.

    My First Setup

Cage looks really good. Temps and humidity both look good. You might want a drainage tray with a dripper!

    Soil!?!

I went with repti soil from zoo med, mixed in some more carbon and some sand to help with drainage. Im happy with that to be honest.

    Medium repti breeze for outside

I would suspect that the move would stress him out more than the size of the cage itself... I have never done this but plan to try it out this summer. I would just get a big enough plant and put him outside on the plant without an enclosure. See what happens

    New Cage

There is a care sheet on here somewhere, https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/ but males should be in a 24x24x48 cage. There is a plant safe list as well https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/plants/ Keep in mind you can always transfer the plants

    Sealant on climbing structure

    T8 dim?

Any fluorescenct will get more dim over time. However since we should be changing the bulbs every 6 months or so this should not impact you greatly or to where it is noticeable.

Sunblaster NanoTech T5 High Fixture/Reflector Combo

I know I have told you before @broderp but I highly recommend a sunray fixture. Looking on Amazon it is $30.00 more than the LED zoo med you bought, but it takes care of heat, uvb and provides excellent light to view your cham. This is $123.99 amazon not too bad considering what you get. This...

Misting water temp and bucket color

Water temperature is important, but perhaps not as important as you think. Everyone I know has been using water at room temperature without issues that we know of. The advantage of adding a heater would be that it would help increase humidity in the terrarium more so than what room temperature...

    RED LED's for plant growth.

LED's to produce the same amount of visible light yet requires less energy. aka an led to produce light that a 60 watt incandescent would produce only require 9 watts of electrical energy (Roughly). This depends on the manufacturer and driver installed. Similarly a CFL bulb would require 15...

Having trouble keeping humidity correct any thoughts could help

I had the same issue, and unfortunately went to a glass terrarium because I would either be misting every 30 mins for 2-3 mins or the tank would dry out. With the glass terrarium I mist 2 times a day for less than a minute... works beautifully.. You can always add live plants and put plastic...

    Mist king

Agreed with @broderp. You need to keep the humidity inline with the chameleon needs rather than the plants needs. That being said, if you have a large enough cage, 4 feet wide 2.5 feet deep and 4 feet tall you could create humidity pockets around these plants in order to keep them alive...
